Hi

I have been working with Scalextric digital for abount 8-9 months now, and for my birthday my lovely daughters gave me this Scalextric Aston Martin DBR9 Pro Performance.

I now under the christimas vacation I wanted to get this car running, but I can see that it´s a hard job for me
First I find that the lack of instructions is giving me more challenges that I excepted.

Now I want to change the motor to the 30.000 rpm, and connect it to me Scalextric digital track. I have bought a Scalextric "In-car microprocessor" part number C7006.

Is there anyone that have some god instructions on how to change the motor, and connect the Scalextric "In-car microprocessor" part number C7006?

Thanks in advance

Happy new year!

Dont !!
The 30000 motor will blow the digital chip !
You could use the yellow motor for digital - but it might blow the digital chip as well. I have a digital car running with the yellow motor, but there is no guarantee.
I think it somewhere on the packages, or at least in the catalogue is stated, that the pro-performance series is not suitable for digital...............
Best thing you can do, if you're not in a club, is to fit a standard scalextric 18000 motor and then chip it.
If you absolutely have to try out the 30000 motor, run it in analog - and I think you will agree, that it is way to fast, to be any fun, on a smaller track.
When you're coming to my place, in the end of january, i have a pair og cars fitted with the 30000 motor, but also analog, and you will be welcome to try them out.
You can have fun running your new car in analog - but if thats not ehat you want to do, its not that great.
Best regards, and a happy new year

Hi Ivan

Thanks for your quick reply. You just saved me for a blow digital chip and a lot of work.

I am looking forward to our meeting at the end of january, and I will be looking forward to try the 30.000 motor.

Also a very happy new year to you.

I've got the Pro Aston Martin as well, stuck the 30000 motor in at first, took it out put the 25000 motor in but eventually stuck with the 20000 motor. I found that the 20000 RPM motor is easier to control and actually completed a lap of my track quicker than with the other 2, might be my driving but it just seems to be more controllable. I havn't chipped this car as I know I can always easily swap the motors over and the fact that its not recommended to chip higher power motors in the first place. Its silly really that scalextric sell a Pro Performance car kit that has 3 motors, 3mm axle, gears etc and a DPR chassis to boot and then say in their catalogue that these motors are no good for the chips, why not sell a chip thats capable of being used in higher powered cars anyway. The actual changing of motors is pretty much a straight swapover with this car, if you remove the body, remove the braid plate, take the screw out of the guide post and remove the 2 metal connectors from the guide which are wired to the motor all you are left to do is take the motor out which should just 'pop' out. Replace with the motor of your choice and refit the metal contacts to the guide (they only fit one way but make sure they are on the right side or the motor will go backwards). If you can for your first time at trying this it may help to take a quick photo to show you how it was in the first place. All you have to worry about then is finding the right gears to suit as not all of the gears that come with the Pro Performance kit actually work with each other.

Hope this helps and not confuses.

Matt
