Need to find light kits

818 Views 5 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  LMP
Just got 8 new scalextric cars.
All have some part of their lighting systems missing.
I have bought 2 Ford Focuses (foci?)
2 Renault meganes and 4 Porsche GT's
They all have some or all of the plastic lighting system in place but no bulbs and no connection to the motor(power).
They seem to be the old type i.e. not led but bulbs.
Does anyone have any idea where to get hold of the necessary parts to make these cars illuminated?

Thanks In Advance

FantasyWorld Hobbies has a whole page of aftermarket lighting kits at

http://www.fantasyworldhobbies.com/index.a...TS&Category=315

They also have a small selection of stock Scalextric lighting components at

http://www.fantasyworldhobbies.com/index.a...TS&Category=284

Also, don't know where you're located, but I've noticed that most slotcar lighting systems use very similar components to what I used to upgrade lighting in MRR locomotives...so if there's a hobby store around that carries MRR stuff, look there.

Finally, Radio Shack usually has a pretty wide selection of super bright LED's...I could almost always find something that'd work for HO trains, so I'd suspect you could find something that's work for 1/32 cars as well.

Hope that helps!

Thanks for that
I have already seen these parts though.
I am after an authentic solution rather than just putting some leds in.

Also you can tell where members are from by looking under there details on the right hand side.
Not everyone lists their location but others do.

Thanks again

Hi azrael,

One of these should be able to help you...

Pendle slot racing

Slot City

Get slotted

There are others but these are the ones I use regularly. Excellent service from all of these.
I second that, pendle have a long listing for scalextric restoration parts and I very helpful when I have called them in the past.

If you wanted to replace the lights with some more modern and permanent xenon lights then Slot.It and Overdrive both make fantastic light kits.
