Rev G DPR chips have been making it into the supply chain for quite a while now.

I bought 7 about 6 months ago and 9 two weeks ago - they ALL have Rev G printed on the circuit board, top right. The place I buy them has a high throughput so stock is never more than a month old.

I guess you got unlucky and picked a supplier who doesn't sell DPR chips very often and is still selling stock bought ages ago.

If your chips don;t have Rev G printed on them I would take them back for a refund if you can. If you buy from one of the popular online suppliers you are more likely to get Rev G - or find another shop that is willing to look at every chip you intend to buy.

Should I be woried? All 6 of my first batch of chips have REV E on them The four extra chips I purchased from a local store yesterday also have REV E on them.

Does REV G only refer to chips that look like the photo above? I am guessing DPR chips are a completely different animal?

No worries
......... your chips are a different beast, they are as sweet as an Angel dancing on your tongue.

Currently, DPR chips are at Rev G, Saloon chips are at Rev E, F1 chips are Rev A and I guess the F1 DPR are also Rev A.

Hi Guys,
Just wanted to see if this info was still correct.
I bought a non DPR F1 chip yesterday from my local hobby store in the midwest, I doubt they do a high volume of sales. The chip is marked Rev B. Did these just come out in the last month?

Hi Greg,
Here is a picture of the chip (sorry if it is too large for forum rules). I don't have a macro lens or anything, so this is about as good as I can get.

I've chipped a few cars in the last week or so since Christmas, but all with saloon chips, so I don't have another one to compare this with, to see if there are any component changes or just FW.

Thanks for the welcome,
Alex

Hi Alex,

Thanks for the picture. I've just checked through some of my chips and it would appear that the RevB F1 chip has been with us for some time.

RevA on left and RevB on right.

It would also seem that the component layout remains the same. The PCB is slightly altered and component wise, the only difference that I can spot is on the other side: the diodes are marked MCC FS1A as opposed to FA 1A. They may possibly be a better rating or just from another manufacturer, we will need some of RichG or Rikorockets calibre to tell us.

So there we have it the F1 boards are at RevB
