scalextric F1:
The guide being the only free area, otherwise box standard. Cars using FF 18,000 rpm motors only.

Club NASCAR. The club will purchase an appropriate number of SCX NASCAR cars & I will prepare these for racing ( can I purchase or be supplied a car to evaluate what needs doing ) A decision needs to be made as to when you want to run this class.

Slot it group C: standard orange endbell motors, inline or sidewinder chassis & motor mounts must be original configuration, standard body & interior. Wheels, tyres, gears must be slot it. Guide free area.

Modified Slot it cars may now run in Open GT.

Japs to be dropped.

Race night format:

NSR Porsches / Club Porsches.

Slot it Group C / Open GT

Scalextric F1 / Ninco Ford GT

QUOTE (syd bennett @ 10 Sep 2011, 07:13) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Race night format:

NSR Porsches / Club Porsches.

Slot it Group C / Open GT

Scalextric F1 / Ninco Ford GT

I think it would be better to separate the new restricted slot.it class from the open GT - too similar.

And I would suggest replacing the Ford GT class with an open rally class (or rallyross to be more exact) Standard body and chassis, free choice of motor, wheels guide. Non-mag

That would give us only one mag class (F1) and quite a mixture of other classes.

So I would propose

NSR Porsche/Open Rallycross
Scaley F1/Open GT
Restricted Slot.it/club porsches

So no nascars.

I think we need to call an agm or meeting and get everyone or most there and hammer it out what classes etc
i say run until christmas then start new classes after so it gives us all time to prepare and purchase new cars etc

We've only run Ford GT for 18 months, All cars are available from Pendle so no need to drop them.
F1 thanks but no thanks I'll give them a miss, If they'd work non mag then I might be interested.

I'd suggest

1) Porsche night

2) Nascar/Open GT

3) Ford GT/Revised Slot-IT

The Nascars can run with mag so there you go there's the mag class.

RALLYcross lets think about that for next year

Looks like a lot of compromising is needed how about at the moment just drop jpgt and do nascars while we can get them cheap and then try and sort something out, pendle is selling £10 autoart rally cars might be an option depending what classes we agree on

Suggestions so far:

scalextric F1:
The guide being the only free area, otherwise box standard. Cars using FF 18,000 rpm motors only.
With magnet.
Without magnet

Club NASCAR. with magnet

Replace the Ford GT class with an open rally class (or rallyross to be more exact) Standard body and chassis, free choice of motor, wheels guide. Non-mag

Ban nsr from open gt replacing jpgt with like an open nsr class.

These seem to have slipped under the radar, The new Scaleauto Jag/Honda/Merc look good and reasonably priced.

Something to think about for next year? I'd lump Slot-IT in with open GT and run these as a class

just been running a scalextric f1 without magnet - its not too bad. Glue motor in, fit slot it guide, true rear tyres but had to reduce diameter of fronts as they dont turn very freely and cause a lot of drag.

as i said before i think we need to get our heads together and have a vote all included on class changes and the majority votes goes
i know myself and gary like the jgtc if some of dont like other formulas will these cease as well i agree some of the formulas are tired but at the moment we are looking at 3-4 new classes ??? what with christmas looming very close and the recent economic climate can we all go out and get these cars or will they be phased in ??

We've never replaced more than one class at a time, JGTC has been running since the end of 2005 which is longer than any other class apart from open GT therefore as the cars are becoming scarce it seems a logical one to end. It's nothing to do with likes or dislikes.
Everything so far has been suggestions, one of those being SCX Nascars which would be run as club cars and could fill the gap left by JGTC at zero cost to racers.

With regard to the other cars/classes,
Ford GT was new for 2010, Everything is still available so it's hard to find a reason to stop this other than personal preferences.
Slot-IT has been running since 2007 but new engines/cars have pushed performance levels up to those of open GT which I personally thought a little illogical, hence the suggestion to limit the cars/engine in the Slot-IT class and allow Slot-IT cars into open GT.
Open GT has been running pretty much every year since 1998 but lately has turned into a 'Mosler' class, I thought allowing Slot-IT cars in would hopefully see some variety again. Infact Garys Slot-IT record is 2 laps better than anything achieved in open GT so far this year.

Dave, if I'm honest we have a lot of ideas and we cant all agree all I can realistically see at the moment is the nascars which is at no cost to us which is great. Personally I don't really see the issue with slot it but if that's what's agreed that's fine. As for F1 I would like to race it as it's completely different the only reason I have the car is I really like it if I don't race it doesn't bother me. I'm just a small part of the club can't really say im a long standing member either been there 5 years took about a 10 year break before that. Anyway I do believe the nascars have magnets and you don't have to prep them so it's a double win, your supra you can do what ever too as long as the magnet is gone for open gt so not losing a car. Under the current rules you can use the nsr Porsche in open gt so saving of a car, slot it depends on your car, ford gt you could race though slow in open gt so all championships can be done with a few cars. Most members have a spare I'm sure you can be come a cousin or something for the night to comply with the rules, should adjust that rule it's a little silly.

OK how's this for a compromise, We replace JGTC with the new Scaleauto GT cars (Providing the prove suitable for racing) but phase it in between when they become available and Easter 2012. In the interim both Ninco JGTC & Scaleauto can run in the same class and it's up to the individual whether they chose the new car immediately or continue with a Ninco car. But everyone has to be running the Scaleauto cars when we start back after the Easter break.
In addition to this we allow any Ninco anglewinder car (eg, Ascari, Megane, BMW M3) into JGTC but they need to stick to the NC5 rule and same magnet (Probably best to exclude Ford GT & Mosler as they run in other classes already). Maybe also relax the tyre rule as well.

Ford GT:- class continues as it is.
Slot-IT:- class continues as it is
Open GT:- Allow any non mag car to run even if they are used in another class
NSR Porsche:- class continues as it is
Club Cars:- class continues but alternate between Porsches, Nascars and maybe any other cars that come up (We may still have the old Meganes with the NC1)
