More talks obviously needed, don't really have a problem with your suggestion Nick assuming the cars work, just a lot of gt still but if they race well suppose that can be brushed over. Mick hopes to be there Friday

Unfortunately you're not going to get away from what we have at the moment without spending a load of money and to be honest I have to agree with Dave in what he said.
I don't want to spend anything on cars that in a year/18 months are gathering dust in the loft (It's happened enough in the past, Ninco Raid, Ninco Kart, Carrera DTM, Scalextric Porsche GT3, Ninco Mini, SCX Rally & Ninco Subaru to name a few)

All before my time, I do agree with dave even talked about bringing old cars back some don't like that, my solution to the problem is if I don't want to race the class I just won't I race ever class apart from jpgt and not bothered at not racing it. Still have all the others to race, what I do like is though we can't agree on something at the moment there is a lot of passion to racing which is great

The problem with bringing back some of the older classes is obviously availability for newer members, However I've not got a problem with prepping a few older cars to run as a club class, I'd love to see the Ninco DTM cars race again. Maybe this is the way forward and at Zero cost

That is the thing totally agree, I'm just one member of many if it went to a democratic vote and was something I didn't like really wouldn't bother me as I can choose not to race it have all the others to enjoy racing anyway. I'm
Not trying to upset anyone by saying this just saying my own honest opinion don't race jpgt now doesn't bother me

ok i think you should stick to policy change class on new year and be careful not to change to many and remember why we set the classes we did 3-4 years ago so that every body enjoyed it and came back every week ! you cant afford to lose members.

and that price rob you should have more than enough spares to keep scx running for a while not many parts available seperately any new cars left after we have finished with them can be sold and all the cheap cars would have disappeared by then. a motor on its own is not much less than we are paying for the cars.
the porsches were equiped with slotit gear but we still have more than 8 you might only see 8
88820 Nascar Axles Kit - contains gear, bearings, x2 whees & tyres + spare set of tyres Sold Out so i think more rather than fewer motor £12.00

i would on nascar nights have 2 cars for each lane ready and have 3 cars in bits ready to swap, break the cheaper cars first i will show you which ones we paid a bit more to get 6 different liveries and we can get a box from bq to keep the spares in for about £7

Following last nights meeting after most people had gone home, it was agreed that the new classes will be as follows:-

Ninco Megane (The ones we stopped at the end of 2009).
Scaleauto 1/24
Racer Porsche 935 with free choice of running gear and tyres.
Scalextric F1 with 37,500 rpm motor, Slot IT gears, NSR tyres and minimum of 4 magnets
Open GT will stay but cars must be NSR Mosler with compulsary change of engine to increase costs.
Slot-IT will be RAW cars only and must retain the orange colour.
NSR Porsches will stop as one member said he didn't like the colour of his car.

To give everyone chance to purchase new cars it was agreed that the new classes will start on 1st April 2012.

Happy racing

You missed the building of a new track with 12 lanes for the 12 nascars to run on, each driver must now drive two cars at once in this class. Changing wheels & tyres at least once during a heat is compulsory.

My last suggestion now, either scrap the jpgt class and what ever class runs with it that night or the other class, or a class of out choosing run a double header. To be honest not really something I'm keen on but not cost to anyone, though we will probably be bored of it quickly

Ok here's an idea for JGTC which might just breathe a bit of life back into it, Wishful thinking I know but here goes.
Allow drivers the choice of running their car magnet or non magnet, Any driver choosing the non magnet route will be awarded an extra number of laps which is determined by the laps achieved by the winning magnet driver. Confused? That makes two of us!

For example, if the winning mag driver scores 150 laps all non mag drivers are given an extra 15 laps, this reduces down to 14 laps for a 149, 13 laps for a 148 etc etc down to 1 for a 136.
This is based on the assumption that most times the winner gets around 147 and I think a 135 is possible with a non mag (Remember Ford GT gets around 133/134) so it should put both options fairly close.
Any takers? I'm up for a challenge and put the magnets back where they belong, On fridge doors!

Nick
