I've just bought a new Scalextric Classic Mini underpan for a project, I also bought a front hub set and as you probably know these fit onto small stub axles which are knurled and very fiddly to put onto the hubs, haven't got out the Mole grips just yet to squeeze them together
So has anybody found an easy way to assemble them?

Mole grips? You are gripping the hub with mole grips? Nooooooo!

The old Porsche 911 GT3 cars had brass stub axles that were pretty easy to get off and refit. Unless the Mini is different, use long nosed pliers (preferably with ribbed 'teeth') to grip the end of the stub axle and then twist off then hub with your fingers. Do the reverse to put them on again. If you have any Fly black plastic stub axles then these make life much easier but they'll need a tiny dab of epoxy resin on the tip before you push the axle home as they're a looser fit. And the length may need reducing.
