Dave, you have been busy, I am sure your efforts will be appreciated by the older memory challenged members of the club - me for one.

One comment though, I am getting a security warning about the information on the site, I know it is not really important at the moment but just thought that I'd mention it as you may be unaware.

PS -Where can I find the race scores for the current series

Good point Keith. A scores page, now why didn't I think of that?

I will probably do it tomorrow, Have to have a look around to find all the info first.

If anyone can think of any other content that I should add then feel free to let me know.

The security thing, I know I get it. It's a pain, but I don't know how to stop it.

Just tried to sign on and got a message the site has been disabled due to violating terms and then try again and get 403 Forbidden... what HAVE you been up to Dave?

I knew it was too good to be true.
One day i'm totally computer illiterate and the next I have built a website. It was bound to go wrong sometime.

I'm onto it, don't know what it is i've done wrong though.

At least it shows that people are looking.
I could say it's a test to get your attention. But you know i'd be lying

Dave, can't fault you for trying. It's a shame there are no IT experts in the club but you could ask Alan or Andy, they might know someone.

I've set up our club on Google sites, if you want any pointers let me know.

It may be that you have put something on your site that google does not allow, for instance if you use their adverts you may not have adverts from anyone else. Content may also be ban, not that I can see why a slot car club would have that sort of images on the website.

Feel free to have a mooch around my website, I do have a second person that assists with the more complex parts of the site such as google analytics

Anything you can shed light on would be helpful Wraith.

I have just looked at Google help forum and it seems this is not uncommon.
Google just seem to shut down peoples sites at random with no explanation as to why.
No warning they they are about to either.
A common theme seems to be that if they emailed to say what the violation was then people would rectify as there is no intention of violation.
Also lots of people have emailed Google, without response, to try and sort the problems.
I have 2 google sites, 1 selling stuff under the "Get brittish business online" initiative and the other a club site. The only thing I can think is the link from club to business that can be wrong
I have removed the link and still no joy.
I guess the lesson is don't use Google.
I will look elswhere for a free host.
Anyone know a RELIABLE one?

If you find a good free host can you PM me the details, as much as I like the ease of Google there are some limitations that a real hosted site would get around.

Latest I have found from Google help sites is that they seem to come back on after a week or two.
Guess i'll just have to wait and see.

I have looked at another couple of free hosts and they don't seem to be as user friendly for the PC challenged (me)
Maybe you have a bit more skill than I do.

Just emailed you about this. Yes it is up and running.
Idea for site, photos of club cars. A lap record list for different classes. The fact that Snickers and Mars bars are still only 40p
