Inspired by seeing this two litre four wheel drive Anglia at the Regency Stages this year I decided to resurrect an old resin shell and fitting a spare Ninco chassis.

The arches are Milliput, probably a bit brittle, but I didn`t have any resin. Ninco 911/934 chassis just about fits the wheelbase.

Araldited the arches on over SCX Escort Minilites.

Undercoated and rubbed down a bit, it`s on "forestry" suspension at the moment
It`ll need lowering a bit for "tarmac".
The topcoat will be Volkswagon Stratos metalic blue, but I can`t spray that until the weather warms up in march or april.

Mate i love it
My first car as a 17 yo ,(circa 1977) was a Anglia with a 2lt cortina (td) motor, and yes it was Yellow, the only prob was a dent in the front guard, being twin skinned could"nt pull out dent.
I think it cost me $300.00 at the time....So seeing that photo brings back a lot of memories, it looked the same minus spotties thank you Phil

cheers neil..

Ey Up Aber,

That is brilliant !!.

My first proper car was an Anglia with a 1600cc X-flow, and Classic struts/discs !!.

Excuse my curiosity, but how was the 1:1 4wd achieved ??!!.

Hi Chris - My one was only a 1300 crossflow but had the classic struts and 2000E box etc.

This one belongs to Andy Phipp and I believe it uses Sierra RS Cosworth 4X4 bits to peddle it.

Here`s a bit of incar from the Regency Stages -

I think I might have to find a warm room somewhere and get the resin one sprayed

Ey Up Aber,

thanks for that, interesting video, very point and squirty, a bit tricky in the dust, he likes his overtaking eh ??!!.

Took me back years, to 1970, I even had an instrument pod on the dash, just like that !!.

Brilliant. Now where is that resin body I've got somewhere ??.

Hi Phil,

Model Anglia looks wicked, can't wait to see it finished.

I've got a Minimodels resin Widearch Puma kit to do a replica of my 1:1, might have to commision you to do the decals nearer the time

Here's another Blue 105E Anglia from last years Snowman Rally, very tidy car

Cheers

Hi Dave - I`ve seen pics of that Anglia on the Rally Forum, it`s a cracking looking motor. Unfortunately I can`t make my own decals but the ones I had on the the Pug 306 Cosworth were made by Phil Boyle (Boyley) on the Rally Forum, I`m sure he`d be able to sort out what you want.
Nice to see the 1:1 Puma progressing.

Thanks Dave, many years ago my then driver took his new wife on honeymoon in our rally Anglia to see the Manx International, she wasn`t a rally fan, didn`t get out of the car to see any stages, sat there reading a book all through the event. Needless to say the marriage didn`t last long! Happy Days

Cheers Phil,

1:1 Puma coming back from paint next week, should be making it's debut 1st March, Tarmac Autotest in 2wd mode just to shake it down a bit, will have to get my finger out to fit it all back together, plus finish a few more jobs to get it driveable

I suppose when I get the Grafix done on the 1:1 I should get the vinyl company to give me a disc with copies of the files so they can be scaled down, for the slotcar ??

Cheers Dave

Taking advantage of the sub tropical temperatures in Aber today I decided to risk spraying the Anglia.
Now does this look like what it said on the tin?
Stratos blue my

Well I started so I had to finish, I`m not sure now what the decalling is going to be though.

the little brats have been swaping the lids on the cans in Halfords again, never buy spray paint just after half term..........

You've got my tin!!

Thats exactly the colour I wanted for a C Type Jag that I did, but mine dried with a Lilac tint.

Will It be dry for Sunday???

Yeh! they even managed to replace the "security" sticker! There`s no way it`ll be cured for sunday and having an inline motor it`ll get crucified in modified class anyway
.
There`s a run on the offside over the rear arch I`m going to have to hide with a decal once the paint has shrunk.

How`s your Stratos going
that`ll be good to see!

It's in me hand now, so to speak..............OOOER!

The pod/chassis fit is a bit tight and I need to shorten the motor shaft so the NS rear wheel dont stick out too much.
However, I've got this out in the lounge,

and no work booked until Monday............ I'f I'm walking funny on Sunday you'll know why.....at 51 my knees will be complaning!

You can get up a nice flow but the crossover is dead, so it's good practise... too much gas and you're off at the bends, not enough and you're beached! The nearest slot to the bottom of the picture runs right to left past the power base, car runs clockwise around the single lane rally loops, does that make sense?

I'm actually liking it a lot, and have a couple of interior doors that need replacing, so might think about fixing it permanently, to those I take out, as a setup in the garage.

(picture taken before I cut up some track to finish the crossovers)
