After many months of speculation we have received some interesting information from AEC (SCX UK Distributor).

SCX's new owners Fábrica de Juguetes have released a 2012 catalogue. Most of the information (if not all) has previously been mentioned before, but it's good to see things are happening again with SCX.

The inside of the catalogue carries the following;

2012 brings a new stage for SCX, with Fábrica de Juguetes acquiring the rights to develop, manufacture and sell SCX.

As regards the re-launch of SCX, Fábrica de Juguetes' first goal is to give products back the top quality and long duration they have always been known for, and so to recover the good reputation SCX has enjoyed from the very beginning.

All this will be backed by major investment in research and development.

We are very proud and we look forward to this exciting challenge, and our commitment to the brand is so strong that we are making waves with our technical innovations, new models, state of the art technology, promotional kits and an endless number of ideas and plans that will soon come to light.

I have picked out a few pages from brochure and will try to upload the entire PDF brochure for you to download later.

No news or info on release dates yet, as soon as i know any more info i will pass it on.

Some nice looking cars.

I like the look of the chicane track pieces - 2 lane for analogue and converging to one lane for digital systems.

Interesting to see the digital system still there. Was it making money for the company?

lets hope one of the "innovations" is using standard type guides

Good to see them back, they do make some good and different cars

Interesting point, or is it a case of 'all the other mainstream slot manufacturers have a digital system, we must too' A bit of model duplication too, with the Mercedes SLS, thats now SCX, Ninco and Scaleauto making them

Except they beat Scalextric to the market by almost a year...

I'll be interested to see what Digital kit V2 is like - looks a bit more user friendly to install.

Some of those rally sets look rather interesting - will be tracking down a few good shops when the son starts his year of teaching in Castille Leon this September.

I hope the new venture does well, I've come to really love SCX cars over the last year or so.

Great to see them survive albeit with a new owner. The quality of this brand has improved immeasurably over the last few years. They still need some work for wood track runners but they are good little runners when finished. They perform very evenly with scalextric cars and good classes can be run combining both manufacturers. Nascar GT and trans am spring to mind.

The buyer who is after scaleauto type performance is not going to buy scx so model duplication is not an issue really. These are definite home track runners and are great fun in that environment.
