QUOTE before I take it outside and stamp on it?

That aint gonna fix it,

check if it is somthing loose/broken inside the car thats causing the rattling first.

In my experience with SCX cars they can sometimes sound like a bag of nails out of the box.
However once you have bedded the gears in nicely with some use it'll run smoother and quicker.
IF it really does sound like somethings come loose and it's making the racket then pop the lid off it and inspect it.

Swapped out the motor/drive/rear axle and took off the lid and it still rattles.

On closer inspection one of the 4 little clips that holds the guide on was missing. I found it (at the scene of an accident) and have loctited it back in.

Time for dinner and a glass of Pinot. Stuff this for a game of soldiers.

Hi Harry

Wind down the front window...
...and see if the ash-tray's loose.

My old Herald always sounded like that without the ash-tray properly located.

Cheers

Si.
