To me, the best issue of the Audi R8 LMS (2016) was done by Carrera, which has all of it's dimensions and details bang on. Second place goes to SCX.
ScaleAuto messed up the rear end of the car, with it being too short.

Would be great to have Slot It produce the Evo1 (with the different front end and regular spoiler as shown in their 3D rendering. And possibly the Evo3 who's main (visible) difference from the Evo1 is that GT2-style wing and supports.

Currently building a Montaplast R8 LMS (Carrera body) to GT3 Interseries spec, with ProSpeed chassis and pod, BabyKing motor etc. Early tests have proven it to be one of the fastest (if not the fastest) GT3 to ever run at our Paul Ricard Ninco track.

If this is the real Second generation Evo II then no one is making it...even the Evo I no one is making in 1/32.
[It seems that Carrera is brining the Evo I in 1/24]
In their 2023 catalog they list in 1/24
Carrera 23945 Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II "Car Collection Motorsport, No.33
Carrera 23946
Audi R8 LMS GT3 evo II 'Team Abt Sportsline, No.7'
They are the 'new' body for 2023.

They will also do those two in 1/32 scale.

Thanks dangermouse, I stand corrected: in 1/24 carrera is doing the Evo II.
Man, Carrera 1/24 line up for GT3/GTLM is really good. with the M4, 992, C8R, R8 they have a nice modern and update line up.
Pity that they have not done the 488 in 1/24.

I have built one of the first releases of the scaleauto r8 and I have to say I was a bit disappointed with the lack of grills details and the complete absence of an engine compartment that is clearly visible through the rear window. In the end I scratchbuild some of those details. I even used some parts of a NSR Audi engine details to make my own one - hilarious to use NSR parts (they are not known to put fine details in their machines) for a scratchbuild ;-)

Do they make a 992? From my quick look they only make the 991.2 RSR, both in 1/32 and 1/24.
If you want a 992, talk to me ;)

I hate porsche model numbering....yeah it is a 991.2 bug or whatever ;-)
Yeah, but… still an R8
nah...it is a second generation R8 evo II.

I don't know if that's a good thing or not, the only time I ever see R8s is on Instagram spam when they end up being smeared along the central reservation.

trust me, it is a good thing.
The rear wing is going to be changed. When we received the files from Audi, we missed the fact that the3D model had the wrong wing - but I can confirm it is a EVO II LMS GT3.
And, BTW, I have compared it to one existing Audi R8 GT3 from one of our competitors and what can I say... they seem to be two different cars - but we know ours is right, coming from Audi themselves.
We need a front splitter, too, and some minor touch up. It is going to be a very nice model.

@Slot.it Maurizio, nice to hear that this is going to be the EVOII with the new wing.
Looking at the picture above, i could not resisting going into my archive and getting out the pictures of the Scaleauto R8 whitekit I built in 2018:

As you can see it is a different car so Slot.it new release on this updated model will be a great addition to any GT3 grid.

I was expecting the release of this livery, but I think this is the Evo I, not the Evo II …

In those pics Gio, the best looking part (read: the front end) of the ScaleAuto R8 is shown. The part where they messed up their release was at the back end, which was simply too much truncated and really short with tiny rear arches
(try squeezing in 17mm wheels with 1mm offset and 1323G25 tires under there 😂)

To me, the best one of the same (non-Evo) 2016 versions was done by Carrera (identical to the model that ScaleAuto did. But put those 2 side to side and it also seems like ScaleAuto did a totally different car than Carrera who got details and dimensions on point!

Today at DSCA Mechelen I got to compare a ScaleAuto Audi R8 LMS and the equivalent Carrera model side by side.
This is where it becomes apparent that ScaleAuto seemingly did a totally different car, as it's almost 15mm shorter somehow.
I'll let the pics do the talking:

I really hope the upcoming Slot It R8 will be more like the Carrera than like the ScaleAuto!

It seems that instead of making it wider and longer scaleauto went the other way around.
Anyone else disappointed ?
Yup. Easily the dullest looking thing blighting tracks since its first, dull, appearance.
I know that for some of you all R8 are all the same. But they are not. ;-
Well, they are all dull as feck; they do have that in common, Gio. 😋

C’mon Pedro, did you see the VR46 pic that I posted? Authentic racing livery, nice car, what else could you ask?😉

And after reading Pedro's opinion on the R8 he moved to a M4...which Pedro loves. ;-)
