I thought that Scott would have posted this by now....

Toyota unveiled their 2004 race car, the TF104, today.

Designed by Gustav Brunner and his team, the TF104 is not dramatically different to last years TF103 and has been described as "evolutionary".

Let's see if new Technical Director Mike Gascoyne, lured from Renault for the sum of $350 million over three years, can fulfill the mandate given to him by Toyota; to beat Ferrari.

I was at the launch yesterday. Wish I had recorded Gustavs description of the car, done in his best Indianna Jones evil German baddie accent. "No, zis iz not a rrrevouzion, but and eeevoluzion. Nutting on zee car has been left unaltered und even zee steering veel is new.

Great stuff.

Hard to tell what's new, as ever, but aero changes include now manditory air box shape and rear wing end plate size so every car will look identical in profile from the cockpit back. All to allow more space for sponsors logos.

Livery has changed a bit too meaning the Scalextric car now even more out of date. I guess we have to win a rsace before we get a new molding or repaint.

I for one hope that they win a race as it will help the F1 interest factor a lot. Can`t expect Scalextric to keep up to date though, it`s getting as bad as football shirts with all this changing! Don`t buy the shirts myself, saving me money to spend on cars, when Scalextric release this beaut it`s a must.
