Hi everyone,

Just wanted to say hi, and introduce myself...

Looking at a lot of your layouts guys/girls and they look fab.
I started one about err.... 5 years ago, then my daughter was born, and all got forgotten just after I spent a
few hundred quid boarding the loft out etc...!

I have started to get back into it again, and if i'm honest its gone a bit mad..

Will post some pics soon..

I think I assumed that you had posted in the the introductions thread, and a moderator had moved things here, but I assumed wrong. Oops!

Your location is not too bad if you fancy joining those of who race HO, considering there are not that many clubs still. FLBT are in Marlborough, as well as having HO on their roster they host 1 or 2 HO national meets a year, which being on weekends are more travel friendly. We get people from all over to those.

The London, Sussex and Kent venues are not too hideous either in Sunday terms. As I say, considering how few HO clubs there are it could be worse!!

Check out eahorc.com and flbt.co.uk to learn more...

Keep the pictures and info coming.

Nice work Aaron. Welcome to the forum and excellent work on your track. If you take a look at getting AFX track you can make that bad boy a 4 lane track which would just be amazing.

Cheers

Gareth

P.S. Come on down to Worthing on Wednesday November 2nd for fantastic racing fun. You'll love it.

Hi Aaron,

Nice to see someone else doing a scenic tracks..it redresses the balance with all the petrol head full out racing boys here
. I look forward to seeing your scratchbuild buildings as I am doing the same with my italian job track
.

Regarding Gareths suggestion of using AFX track it is a good idea as Microscalextric track is limiting in terms of curves in what you can achieve. Microscalextric cars will work fine on the AFX track......Look at my Italian Job thread to see what sort of stuff you can do...although I have now gone onto using Faller track to achieve even more of a town/city feel I am after..I would say the AFX track is better for racing than the Faller track though as the Faller track has a huge amount of joins

Oh and how about "Piston Broke" for the pub name (think about it
)

I can't speak for the other petrol heads, but I for one would not mind some scenery.

Years ago I saw a track which had faux kerbs and racing lines painted on and painted run off areas too, with really detailed barriers beyond (behind which we would need to place our out-of-scale clear ones I think. It looked the nuts.

Some portable sections like that, with the track 'embedded' so it would be click and play would, I think, go down well with all the nationa racers.

Let me see what pictures I can find...
