I love those pics, YB! I have a long history of ****ing up scatter, railway ballast etc. You mention it, I've ballsed it up (too much PVA, too little PVA, lifting of said scatter on brush etc etc)
I think the scenic matting is just about getting to the 'safe' stage on my layout, and it's good for creating 'muddy' patches too by scraping back to the paper.
We'll see after this weekend!
