Hi all excellent site some awesome looking track layouts some of the members have by the way! Am after a bit of advice if you don't mind, I have a scalextric sport set with tvrs which I intend to permanently mount and extend but as a motorbike fanatic I want to run some moto gp bikes, before I invest my hard earned will the bikes run on the track that I have? Sorry if that's a stupid question!!

Welcome to the site mate.

The scalextic bikes will work fine on sport track, but they are not the best for racing etc. I must stress that I have never tried a scaley bike but I have heard they are very unstable. Why not get one cheap off ebay just to see if you like them before spending to much money.

Cheers Paul.

Is the track going to be flat on a board or are you going to be moving the board around a fair bit ?

You can get track clips by Scalextric, Pendles flog them: http://www.pendleslotracing.co.uk/

I could not do a direct link to the clips but they are in the sports track section, half way down

Cheers Paul.

hi
also worth mentioning is that all the scalextric sets that were sold with bikes included came with banking wich was placed under the track to make cornering more managable.

Oh and welcome to the forum,a must if your into slots....

Hiya wellerman and welcome to the forum. I have been looking at running bikes as well, not on a big scale but just for fun. Scalextric bikes are big in comparison the 1/32 scale I am used too.

I would have a look on UTUBE, I think if I was going to run bikes as a seriouse racer I would go for the SCX which are much smaller scale but they have the ability to lean and I have to say look great on the track. I dont think the SCX bikes will run on 1/32 scale track but I could be wrong.

Best Wishes
