I did something similar to that with my Ninco borders and for the spots where I wanted curbs I left the red and white part of the border unpainted. This way the white part of the border is gone but yet the curbs are still there when wanted.

Is there anything to be done about the difference in grip level between the track and the borders?

the plastic seems much harder or is it just the release agent from the mold?

The borders are made from a different plastic than the track, to the touch they feel a bit greasy so a bit of matt acrylic should help matters. The main test will be when I finish 'Pine Loop'

Good question Mr C

...unless anybody else has any good ideas?
