Hi all,

First the link (a direct link to the MPEG file - plays in Windows Media Player for me by default), Its approx 4 MB and 20 seconds,

My first movie: Porsche 934 on my home track

Now the details!

Just goofing around, nothing professional like some of the efforts to date but thought what the hey, this looks like fun and I thought I'd share my home layout this way.

Shot a few clips on my digi cam (Cannon S45). Loaded them into Sony's Movie Shaker software on our VAIO PC and output as an MPEG1. Uploaded to a web hosting package I manage and posted here...

The track is my home track, the Autodromo Modello Gilles Villeneuve (AMGV).

Its 4 lane Ninco, approx 36' per lap (varies by lane as there is no cross over). The table doubles as a storage unit with room under for about 65 bankers boxes underneath. Table is about 19' x 3.5'. Power is 12V (13.8), 5 amp Regulated/filtered power from RadioShack, permanently wired under the tables with REVERSE switches so I can run CW and CCW and fused for each lane with 4 amp quick pop fuses. 4 controller boxes (1/4" stereo jack with brake switch AND black/white/red posts). Controllers are Parma Econo 60 & 45 ohms (good for magnetless)

Elevation change is 5.5". Pits will be under the short chute along the back and will face the front straight. Grandstand complex will be inside the bigger curve complex and overlook the pit straight below.

Currently bringing the terrain up to track level (80% done) via foam core board and N scale railroad cork. Next will level the track in its bumpy little bits via some well placed finishing nails. Then fill cracks, track dimples and other imperfections with Polyfilla (the white crap on the track). The sand bumps and paint, then grass, walls, guardrails, trees, buildings etc!!!

Car is the Ninco Porsche 934 Vaillant. It was hard to drive a 'fast' lap while filming. The car is running with out mags. It's fast as anything I own.

Hope you like!

Cheers, Ken R

Thanks guys, it was fun!

So ture Slik - left hand driving (not my natural throttle hand...), right hand cam! Trick was to do three laps and use either number 2 or 3 in the edit... number 1 was always jumpy and the car was rarely in the frame!

Mr Max- Mag out was simple. There are only two chasis screws and once the body was off a little push (fairly firm) from the underside of the chasis through the tiny hole gets the mag moving out of its hole and at a magic moment it pops itself clean out and attaches to the end of the motor casing...then take it out easy with your fingers.

Slik - half an hour driving and taking various stils and clips from different angles, five minutes to upload off the camera, five minutes to import into Shaker, half an hour to order and edit sequence, fifteen to add the text and effects (also right in Shaker), five minutes to upload to web server, add a tenner to write ethe post and you have approx. 1 hour 40 minutes start to finish. (note: no audio work!).

Cheers all, Ken R
