Hello mates.

I'm new to the forum so this is my first post.
Me and some friend have a Scalextric digital track we connected to Pc lap counter.
But we havent figured out how to program a car while we have the PB connected to the PC. There's usually 10-12 of us competing and we have to reprogram the cars between almost every heat. There must be a way to reprogram the car to a handle without disconnecting the cable to the PC and hook up the original panel u got with the 7042 PB.

Any tips please?

Hi there and welcome on the forum.

What you need to do is flash the APB with the latest version of firmware, available from Andy Wallace' Website

Once you've done that you should be able to program your cars by pressing the "Enter" button for 2 seconds, the green light will start flashing and then you press the brake button on your controller to program the required ID for the car.

I have not used PC lap counter, so I can't comment on the combination you are running. Someone else might be able to inform us.

Hi Jimmi, and welcome to SFi.

If you (or one of your mates), has an old spare powerbase, it can be easier to have this plugged in on it's own, away from the track, just to ID cars.

Thanks for you answear, i will update the PB and try that. It should work even though we dont run ssdc right?

Yep.

You don't need SSDC for the ID function to work.
