Checked the bid history and the feedback of the two high bidders on this one and they both have glowing comments. The losing bidder has been having a real spending spree in the last month but nothing as crazy as this.
Inte, he wasn't bidding against himself, he was just creeping up his highest bid a bit at a time.
Moped, it would be a nice idea if Hornby re-issued the Mk1 Mexico, one of their best allrounders IMO. But only the early Johnson powered cars as the later ones had to much power and looked like they were permanently popping a wheelie. I hope Adrian is reading this!
Bloody hell ! surely it cant be that rare can it ?. Even mint condition Scaley TR4a's and Sunbeam Tigers only fetch £100/£200
Does the fact that it is white have anything to do with it ?. There always seems to be a few of the black C52's on Ebay. In fact, I would really like a vgc one myself as it was my fave Scaley car as a kid. Most I have seen a black one for was £35 vgc with box at the Milton Keynes Swapmeet.
By mint in box i mean i have the box which is mint. As for the car it is completely scratch free. Maybe i don't race hard enough
I run mine on The wheels and tyres for the scaley Caterhams that Look like minilights Looks very cool. I also replaced the motor with a modern one. Obviousely i kept the original wheels, tyres and motor.
My thought echoes that of Austin the whole point of slot cars is to race them, not stick them on a shelf.
as an add on i bought mine at a toy fair in Middlesborough a few months ago for £33 after some haggling and i still thought i paid to much. I really just wanted a compannion for the black mexico with Yellow pinstrips that i already had.
