After several months of discussions and organisation the NSCC are pleased to annouch a new Slot Car Race Championship for 1:32 Scale slot cars.

Full details on the Championship Cars and the rules, regulations and some advice can be viewed and downloaded direct from the NSCC Web site.

Take a look and let me know what you think, what i hope to achive within this Topic are some hints and tips from racers on the Championship cars and well as me trying to answer some of your questions.

As you can imagine writing rules and regs for this has taken a while and i'm sure they are not perfect, but lets see.

Hope to hear from you soon.

A few people have been in touch to ask where they can take part.

Over the next few months clubs and organisations will (hopefully) be letting me know when they will be holding open events and mini Championships etc.

I will post the dates and contact details on this forum section and show details in the NSCC Journal.

If you are a club and would like to hold a Mini Championship please get in touch.

For your info the first club to confirm that they will holding a full mini championship is Scale models.

Check out http://www.scalemodelsslotracing.co.uk/ for full details.

See also on their site the fantastic discounts they are offering on the purchase of Championship cars!

Following several enquiries from a number of clubs and individuals we have decided to amend the rules for the championship.

We had originally wanted clubs to race all six classes, Carrera, Fly, Ninco, Scalextric, SCX and Vanquish MG.

Following requests and suggestions we are now going to allow clubs to pick any three of the classes to run. All competitors must compete in at least three classes.

The finals will still have six classes and all finals cars and equipment will be supplied.

If (as a club) you are planning a major event or mini championship over one day or a weekend type thing, it may be possible for the NSCC to loan you a complete set of championship cars. This will need some planning and we can't guarantee to be able to supply all, but if you think this might be of interest, please get in touch. Due to costs this will only apply to clubs in the UK - sorry!

Thanks for the interest.

The official rules and regulations will be updated in the near future.

If you have any other sensible suggestions as to how we might improve the rules, please let me know.

Those of you based in the UK who would like to discuss the Championship face to face might like to know that i will be available (with examples of all the Championship cars) at the NSCC table at this weekends Loughborough NSCC Swapmeet on Sunday.

See you there!

I've just raced my Fly Saleen (racing) at Wellinbugger tonight. The motor kept jumping out of its mounting until I glued it. Admittedly we were running sponge tyres and the extra grip might have caused this but you might want to check your cars before the championship.

vfr,

Not had that problem on the one Jexy has asked me to evaluate.

Did it have any big impacts before showing this problem?

Do you run brakes at Wellinbugger (like it, like it)? I feel that brakes do tend to produce a lot more wear in a slotcar, with the torque reversal et al. So that could be literally twisting the motor out of its mount.

I've raced this one a few times in the Open class at Bolwextric (no brakes) and I find it a bit of a beast. Most of the lads are using Proslot Toyotas and while the Saleen may be quicker it is much more "nervous".

Probably just my deficiency, though!

Hi Mr M,

Yes, we do run brakes although I'd got them adjusted fairly low. I also forgot to say that I'd put a larger rear contrate on to improve accelleration.

No big offas but with my driving, lots of little ones.
