Here are the results from the first round of one of the new championships.
the race calendar for the rest of the year will be posted shortly, but I can tell you the next club night will be inline LMS.
Whilst chatting to the guys on the way home we thought if you had enough track you could make a representation of the routed track in scaley sport. This could be made in sections and wired together, then placed onto the tables which will get over the electrical problems we are having and give some practice for the upcoming routed track.
Doesn't time fly? It's already a month since we raced LMPs back in September, but here we are again!
Just 4 racers this evening with Tom and Chris making the trip from Cardiff to support us again, thanks gents, we really appreciate you coming along
Racers and cars tonight were Tom with his 3D Arrowslot BMW V12 with 25k NSR EVO motor, Chris with his NSR Audi R8 with NSR 21k motor, Sandra borrowed a Slot.it Lola with a Boxer 2 lump up it's chuff as here NSR Ordi ate it's own crown wheel and Mike with his 3D Arrowslot BMW V12 with 21k NSR motor.
Tonight we went for a long fast start/finish straight with a tight and technical back section giving us laps in the high 4 secs/low 5 secs region on our 2 lane Scaley Sport track.
Racing was fast and furious over 2x40 laps legs with each racer running on the inside and outside lanes. As usual, the fastest times were earned by the most consistent drivers with the technical section claiming a few victims if they pushed a little too hard.
After 240 laps of incredibly clean and fair racing, Mike took overall honours from Sandra, Tom and Chris
Hey Rickster. ..how the devil are you? Tried to text you last week, but you changed your number? If you fancy a race come on down. Our new track is not far off so you must come and see for yourself.
😊
Due to structural changes and developments within the Club , Abertawe Slot Car Racers are dissolving their current club with immediate effect.
Therefore Abertawe Slotcar Racers will be reopening its doors with immediate effect with a different structure and ambition.
Classes for 2016 will carry on as per current calendar until the new club track is finished.
From the New Year, a membership handbook will be available with a Code of Conduct, Club Structure and rules and regulations for the classes that we will be running during 2017. A new calendar will be available once the new track is finished.
Monday night and it's that Marmite class, yes, it's Ninco 1 night at Abertawe!
Some love the Ninco 1 cars, others loathe them, but this class always produces fast(ish) close racing........... Oh yes, did I mention that it's Sandra's favourite class?
We had 5 racers tonight with Tom and Chris making the trip from Cardiff, Mike and Sandra and Rick making a very welcome return to Abertawe, it was good to have you back Rick!
Well the racing started with Mike and Tom trading places with their identical Merdedes SLRs in a fast, incident free race, next up was Sandra who didn't have the sort of race that she was expecting.......! Red lane, the outside lane, gave her lurid sideways "style" a few issues but she soon settled down and started putting in some fast and consistent laps with her GT40. Chris put in some very nice and consistently quick laps in his Mercedes SLR while The Rickster got to grips with analogue after his lay-off in a rather fetching Corvette.
Red lane was to prove the downfall of a few with Mike being particularly hard done by, being fast on yellow and having a couple of nightmare races on red which dropped him even further down the order than he thought!
The results at the end of the night threw a couple of surprises with Penelope Pitstop (a.k.a. Sandra) coming out on top followed by a storming result from Chris in 2nd spot. Sandra's nemesis Dick Dastardly, (a.k.a. Tom), came 3rd being another victim of the dreaded red lane with The Rickster in 4th spot while Mike propped up everyone else in last place.
