Inte and I were having a talk... We've done this before you know!

Anywho.... we know that many of you also have Gran Turismo 3 ASpec for the Sony Playstation 2 console and we would like a "proxy event" of sorts using that game.

Last time we took unmodified Subaru Impreza rally cars and ran for best lap time around Laguna Seca.

Here are the details for this go...

You pick any car from the game and modify it in any manner that you wish. Unlimited HP, tire choice, aero effects etc...

Two different events in the "Test" section are the 400m and 1000m straight line tests. Fastest times on either will win bragging rights. No prizes to offer unless one of you giving chaps feel like offering....

Any takers? Better hurry because Inte is practicing as we speak!!

Oh yeah... if your time seems "impossible" you may be asked to prove your time via digital pic of your television screen.

I had a couple of goes on Gran Turismo 4 in Tokyo last week. They were launching it at the Tokyo Motor Show. A short game, like 2001's "Concept" will be released in Japan in early December. No news on full game release or other release dates.

Graphics even better, cars look fantastic and some new tracks. Also launching a GT4 branded wheel and pedals.

My mate also had a go of GT4 at the playstation experience.

Also in last months PSM mag there was a video of it. I was shocked, the graphics are bloody amazing!

Can't wait for GT4. Hint to slot manufacturers - look at all the top cars in GT3, then make them all! Bring on those Supras, NSX, Skyline, Pagani and all. It does make you wonder if some of us are influenced less by motorsport coverage than by things like Gran Turismo games and Fast & Furious films?

Are these Gran Tourismo games due to come out (or are they already out?) for the Xbox ?

Once our new track place is open, we will have an Xbox running Race simulators there too, doubling as a DVD player for Race films etc.

This is one of the most eagerly awaited additions for my son, who is desperate to play Midtown Madness 3. I am a 'mean Daddy' because I won't let the kids have a Playstation, Game Boy or Xbox at home - 5 PCs in various forms isn't enough apparently!

News on the new race centre should be coming this week, though in reality it will be after the SF tour this weekend.

But I would be very very surprised if any of the Gran Turismo series came out on Uncle Bill's Xbox, mainly cos Gran Turismo is developed by Sony and Sony would never let one of their 'flagship' titles go over to the enemy.
