Really enjoyed the run out today guys thanks to Tony & Julian. Also a thanks to Martin for looking at my Marchon. Have to agree with Julian it was a very relaxed day in Yelling with alot of good humour and mostly on my part Rubbish racing. Thanks all, hopefully we can do this again in the near future.

QUOTE (redlineracer @ 16 Oct 2011, 20:16) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Great fun had by all

Cheers
Craig

Thanks for the vid Craig.

After going through a period of testing and adjusting, we engaged in some racing action for real, starting with the Magnatraction. There was a mixed grid of CanAm cars and Saloons, Martin was TQ, after some frantic heats and duly took the win from Julian, Matt and Tony . After lunch we progressed on to the G+ F1/Indy cars, where Martin was TQ and duly took the win (yet again) from John, Julian and Tony

A great day, relaxed, fun and enjoyed by all, thanks for coming guys.

After the racing was over a test run was made on the track to compare to the best Magna and G+ lap times recorded.

Magna 3.42 seconds Martin during racing

G+ 2.85 seconds Martin during racing

Tyco 2.52 seconds Tony Test run

Mega g 2.41 seconds Martin Test run

An interesting observation here is that the G+ has No traction Magnets and was just .3 of a second slower per lap at best to a Tyco

thanks for the Video clip, and a very enjoyable day. I'd not driven either a Pancake or G+ in a race before, I found them much more fun than the faster / more expensive / more modern cars I've tried. Lets hope that these friendly relaxed events become more frequent. I've been buying a few bits on ebaytonight in the hope that I can come out to play with these cars more often. Thanks again.

Crash,

I am very pleased that you found this style of racing to you liking and look forward to your attendance at our future meetings.

More races for the Vintage Chassis are being arranged for 2012, watch the relevant thread here on the SCHORC page.
