Some pictures:

I added more lights and some small buildings to the layout... in particular around the grandstand area.

The official program and timing stand (needs some more detaling, but took some pics anyway:

With the programs available (thanks for the idea Steve!!!)

Foodstand under the grandstand by night:

Close up:

Offical mercandise stand (mind the jackets on the rails!!!)

Grandstand by night (i think the ground-lightning gives a great effect)

Bottom floor of the VIP tower, the showroom, added lights... and the Ferrari 512 that drove the 24 hours of Spa in 1970:

Cheers

As ever said, always more impressive

Can you give me the height of the steps of your grandstand (I've just built mine and I'm afraid it is not scaled
)

Fred,
I used a seat height of 1/2"(16") and a step height of 1/4" (8") and it worked out great. The seated SCX figures I purchased fit perfectly.

I measured my own leg from foot to knee while seated to determine the proper scale size even before I bought the figures, and luckily it worked out perfectly. I guess the SCX figures really are 1:32 scale.

Steve
Gunther,
Your track looks better and better all the time. I absolutely love your merchandise stand. Man, I think I'm going to have to re-do my souvenir shack. Looks totally awesome Gunther - Wow!!

Where do you find the time to do all this?

Steve
The shirts stall with the shirts on rails is the coup-de-gras! Magical!

Astro,
How are we ever going to out-do that?

I'd direct her to Gunther's shirt stall, but no, nevermind.

The hight of the steps is 1cm (0.39 inch...) each... and all the figures (Carrera, MRRC...) fit perfectly on them. Like Sacesta I also measured everything up, and then scaled everything down... (I do that with all the pieces I make, just to make it look as realistic as possible, hights of walls, doors...)

Thanks again for the kind words!
But looking closely at the pics... I realise that the stands need some more finishing up. Next projects are another foodstand, another merchandise stand, and a small building that is typical for the real Spa Francorchamps' La Source.

And when I find the time to do all this? Well... in between the housejobs (installing lights, assembling furniture, painting rooms...), office work... and social life...

I must say... that my social life is quite involved in my slotcar addiction... We had a party on friday with six couples to discuss what we are going to do on new years eve. Well I must say 4 of the 6 regular slotbuddies were there, and two newbies... The wifes discussed everything from booze till menus... and we raced team-endurances from nine till three in the morning... We had great fun... and... New Years Eve party is at our house this year... but... the wifes all said we coulnd't race that night
)

Mmm... but tonight is real racing night... looking forward to it!

Cheers
