Hi guys,

It's been a while since I posted an update of the circuit. Well, it was because I had lots and lots of other things to do. But the last days I made some progress!

Well, mostly I did all the advertising... and some more fences (for everyones safety).

911 GT1 on the way to Stavelot, just before I started placing the advertising.
I think it's a great picture, with the sun and the shadows.

New fences at "Les Combes" and "Bruxelles":

Advertising along the track:

I searched the web for foto's of the advertising on the 1:1 track, and I tried to make everything as realistic as possible:

Some tents on the camping, I "planted" some more trees too:

Some BP parasols at "Chez Bruneau":

I made an "advertisement bridge" to put over the lapcouter's lightbridge, again with the actual 1:1 advertising on it. There are sitting also more people on the grandstand now:

The paddock gets more crowded too:

View from "Stavelot" with the tower and pits in the back:

Overview of the track:

Some action pictures of the new 1972 911s:

Isn't she a beauty?

Watching these pictures again... I'm glad I have natural sunlight on the track.

This afternoon I'm going to put more lights in buildings and tents in the camping site and spraying the guardrails in aluminium! Tonight it's race-night on Petit Spa, I think we will race an 24hour race with early seventies cars. I'll take some pictures! I'm curious to take photo's in the dark with the new lights in place!

Cheers!

And happy newyear!

@ tadream: Yves, hope these pictures tease you even more and make you paint your upstair rooms even faster! No serious... whenever you find the time man! The sooner you come and race here, the sooner I can do some laps on your Petit Le Mans!

I'll gues , you bored of these words: GREAT PICS AS ALWAYS

Couldn't await this update on Petit Spa!!!!

I also think that real daylight is always an advantage for the track - for racing as well as for taking pics.

@ TDI - as soon as you've completed soldering, tell Scotty the coordinates to beam me up to Belgium! After some laps on your beautiful track, he might beam us back to Switzerland and you might compete on Mugello and Suzuka

Graet pictures of a nice track!
thx for sharing!

I'm very impressed with the circuit as I may have mentioned before.

Thanks for the nice replies guys!

@ SlotraceDK: I only put the pits that way, because on 1:1 Spa it is built the same way. But I do like to see the building from this end!

@ E-racing: I was thinking about sending it to Damduin and Gerard. I'm curious for their comments. They do have another picture from me to comment though!

@ KoenDR: That is in fact not very far!!!

Racing night was super! Wa had an endurance with 65 - 75 Le Mans cars. I drove a Ferrari 512s, there were three 917's and one GT40! Most of the races were very close! We each raced 4 manches of 10 minutes with against eachother. So everybody had raced everybody on the track. And then the results were added up!

After some problem races for me with the 512 (the ring holding the guide broke and so the guide was very loose in the chassis), I ended in second place with 301 laps, six laps behind Bram with his Martini 917k. Jo was third with a 917 Spider on 278 laps, and Ben (917k) and Koen (GT40) ended with 254 and 254 laps!

I have some pictures of last night, and some of my work yesterday afternoon. But that will be for tonight. My wife wants to go shopping... and I'll go along, she let me working in the garage for two full days! And maybe I find something for scenery of a slotcar in the shopping center!

Cya tonight!

Some more pics of yesterday. I thought there would be more of the cars during the races, but they seem to have gone all bad... but this is what I do have:

The GT 40 testdriving during the afternoon:

The camping gives a more lifelike impression:

4 tents are illuminated:

The illuminated tents give a soft glow. They make the track lighten a just a very bit... just what I wanted. And the sphere they breathe... I like the night sessions even better now!

The 1971 Ferrari 512 shines bright in the dark:

The (little more crowded) stands during the night:

Cheers

Tonights work, not exactly track or scenery, but what the heck...

Damn I love that car! You should see it climb those hills in the dark! Too bad I lost one of the extra headlights with taking out the headlights! I'll try to get some spares of those CIBIES.

I think next weeks race night will give some great photo opportunities! En endurance with illuminated seventies GT class cars!

Last night @ Petit Spa: 24 hours in the Seventies!

Last night we had a fabulous race night! We started a real season with the regular five and the first race was a Seventies 24 hours. We had a great time! It was a race in two classes Prototypes and GT's. The classes didn't really matched the time with the GT40's, but we have a few rookies, who don't have enough cars to race in every class. I put in some pictures I took of the pits and other cars in between the manches too.

Picture before the race: This beautifull 365 of Bram broke down during the warm-up. Bram had to take his BMW 3.0 CSL for this race, too bad for Carrefour's promotion money:

Koen's magnificent GT40 during the "first few hours"...

I drove my new illuminated Porsche 911... here am I... flat out... racing against Koen's GT40... (really love this pic, the car is very sharp in that moving picture):

Accidents happen:

Ben braking for the bus-stop with his 365.

Ferrari 365 number 71 passing through the pits at dusk:

Not the best picture, but it shows Bram with his Bmw slightly on two wheels through "Les Combes".

Ben's 365 coming straight to the camera in "Stavelot":

Busy pitlane by night:

this picture is not taken during the race of course, but it gives a real impression of Jo's red GT40 during yesterday's race. The car had quite some problems and stood in the pits quite often. This gave me the chance of winning last nights endurance. The Scalex GT40 was 0.3 seconds faster per lap, so we (the GT's) never had a chance against that. Jo's last stints were very good, and he took quite some laps back! He ended second...

A Ferrari 512 getting in for a tyre change: With pictures like this I allways imagine the growning of the engine in my head.

Damn I love these cars... another "Daytona":

I had to pit too of course!

One of the most entertaining manches Ben and I:

Slightly getting closer:

A few laps later, I overtook him:

Next week we do the 1980 1000 kms of Spa with the famous Capri's. I think the results will be very different than this week. There won't be any "car-advantages"... It will be an endurance with four Capri's and me with my 3.5 CSL.

This was the last "Race-report" I bored you with directly on the forum. We're busy making a site about the track and about our very own competition. I'll keep you guys updated about that project too!

Cheers

Gunther
