Because a number of Slot Forum members took place, just a quick note of congratulations to those who took part in the race.

It was a narrow victory to the home team of `Skippy` The `Iceman` `Timmy Jordan` (Eddie Jordans secret love child) and `Flying Ads`. The race was well contested and GTO and Mclaren raced superbly as part of a visitors team. It was a pleasure to have you at Phoenix guys, you are a credit to the hobby. The race was very close up until the night racing phase, street lamps and headlights only.

For me `Flying Ads` put in THE performance, 253 laps in an hour long session in the dark and a 13.7 second fastest lap. Also of note was the race between `Smokin Joe` and `Flying Ads` when afterv an hour long leg they stopped (to change over) with the cars alongside each other, superb!

Several other new and upcoming racers put in cracking performances. Of note were `Big Chris` and `Gary the Phone` , `Merlin`and `Robbie D `. Nice one guys
Several have probably crossed me off their Christamas card list as I tricked them into taking part! Having said that I`m convinced that once they wake up after sleeping for a week, they`ll see an improvement in their racing at the next race night, well done `Smouldering Martin` `GeeBee` and `Ru Shaw` and `Liam the Hat` `Mad Dog` `Dick D` `Mutley`:D

Our two visiting teams get an automatic invite to next years race, third weekend in July. We have room for another visiting team of six. Any club or group interested then give me a shout. Cheers.

Cheers for the post Jonny, I was thinking of doing something today...

'Twas a fun 24 hours and I think the stars of the show were the top visiting team of Kieth Farr, Nick Picknall, Nigal Williams and some fast guy that I didn't know. They turned up (well, Kieth and Nick did) a bout an hour before the start of the race with one car, one motor, one axel and one set of tyres. They had no spares at all, and didn't even posses a light kit!

After 24 hours, they had fitted the light kit during the night, changed tyres twice (borrowed a couple of sets) and seen two team mates arrive late and one leave early. Oh, and they also finished third!

QUOTE Mclaren raced superbly

You taking the mick?!

No mate I was impressed. I nearly posted that you raced like Elvis ! The shaking leg was funy but the head spinning a la `The Exorcist` was truly scarey and did you know that your eyes lit up in the dark? What`s that all about

He`s a `Dancing Queen` is our Mclaren, you should see him move!

Yep, Keith and Co. raced well. The other guy was Fred. he hadn`t raced for 8 years ! He just got stuck in. It proves that with the right mental approach you can get on the the pace with a well prepared car. Also shows that the home advantage is minimal as over the 24 hour period you certainly learn the circuit. Keith`s team won our first 24 hour race in 2002.
