hi alaskaracer,

Just today the balance of our parts, tools and stock was removed from the previous factory and delivered to new facility. It is now going to be matched up against our previous gear to see what was completed and what wasn't last month.

I should get a better idea later this week.

I will keep you updated.

I've been involved in this kind of thing before, it's not as straightforward as Jules makes it sound, he's got a busy time ahead! Even when you get the tools delivered, they need to be stripped and checked, then put into the moulding machine and run, hopefully with notes from the previous moulder to start with but every machine runs a little differently. That's assuming there's no damage to the tools, which isn't as often as you'd hope.

It's a huge task to keep us in slot cars!

You'll have a better idea of how much you still don't know later this week
Hope it goes well

Choc-Ice, You are correct on several levels.

For example: All Pioneer stuff was dumped in the street outside the factory gates. Here is a small selection:-

I was staggered by this disrespectful behaviour.

Given this kind of nonsense, I really don't think the Production Manager has left comprehensive, helpful notes regarding the tools!

More hassle to come, methinks. I just found out we have lost the display box tool so that's Job 1.

Grrrrrr.

Jules - That's unbelievable. Hope things pick up quickly for you.

Bleep - That's hilarious! Looks like someone else has got their eye on it though...

Jules.. That photo of some of the Pioneer items, just dumped outside the factory gates is unbelievable and very upsetting.
I cant imagine the frustration you must be going through regarding the situation.

I am sure I speak for all concerned, involved, and followers of "Pioneer" slot cars, that you are able to sort everything out over there, hopefully without to many more complications, so that "Pioneer"can continue to be
one of the best slot car makes available.

All the very best over the next few weeks, and please keep us up to date on how things progress.

Martin.

It was atrocious behavior and completely unnecessary. My first wife didn't treat me that badly when she threw me out. She only called Brighton CID and informed them that I was probably responsible for the gruesome murder of a gay man called Jeff who had been bludgeoned to death in his basement flat in Hove. Lot's of questions about my lifestyle, hangouts and whereabouts on the night of the murder. Fingerprints and the works I got from the cops but at least all my slot cars and Bee Gee's records weren't dumped in the front garden. (incidentally, in case you're wondering, the guilty party was a 15 yr old rent boy who had not been paid for an afternoon. Apparently he returned at midnight the same day to do the dirty deed.)

Anyhow, back to topic.....

I think this is an example of how unimportant small slot makers are to toy factories. Nice big ongoing toy train orders keep flowing in so they effectively 'chuck you out'.

A popular phase in the English language is 'Chinese Take Away'. Maybe all the problems have roots in poor translation. For them, they have turned this around into 'English Throw Away'.

Crispy Duck. I'm sure that rhymes with something, it just not coming to mind right now.

Wouldnt life be so much better if people were willing to pay a fair price for a fair product. I suspect we are still 25 years away from that concept. Perhaps 15 years if unionism is introduced in China??

Good luck with it Jules. I suspect there are easier/better ways to earn a living other than making toy cars for a living.

cheers
