Hi All,

Well I have been given the opportunity to try something very different this summer for a holiday, although I find it difficult to call anything that includes me driving over 2000 miles a holiday!

I am driving the family around some of Spain and France in a glorified motorised caravan! for my summer hols - deep joy.

We are going to visit the Rioja region - for the wife for obvious reasons.
Madrid - for the wife
Seville - for the kids
Granada - wife again for a wedding!

And travelling back by the most direct(ish) route up the west coast of France, stopping over at Le mans museum for me.

The question is; does anyone have any recommendations of places to visit en route or reasonably close to our route?

Now I am very broad minded and cultured, which anyone who has met me will confirm?

So my interests are not solely slot or motor sport based, but I am more interested in these!!

I have done Barcelona and may take a detour to igualada if it is possible, but the rest is pretty much an open itinary.

Suggestions on a postcard please?

Cheers

Hi guys,

Thanks for the responses!

Gerald thanks for the invite, mike great suggestions. Julian, I am just not that lucky!

Is there anything worth seeing in Spain?

Do Avant Slot like visitors? Factory shop?

Keep them coming,

LOL!

Missed that Grahame!

Jon, I have done Barca, never visited factories though. I reviewed the route and its too far east, but Madrid is definately on.

Anyone know of any good shops or clubs in Madrid?

Going for an induction on the van next weekend!

Cheers

Hi, I would have advice you the Pyla dune and the Aquitaine costs but I don't know how it's going there since the Xinthia storm crossed that area (it's not so old). For sure the Côtes d'Armor, also called Côtes de Granite rose, are very beautiful. If you go to Le Mans you should take one day or two and move 50 kms down to visit some castles, the Indre et Loire and Loir et cher department are very nice and reputed.

regards,

QUOTE (Graham Lane @ 19 May 2011, 12:36) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Julian, that's very big of you. What, are you offering to pay for the wedding?

No, I had to pay out £75 (including the reception) for my own wedding 6 years ago today, the only good thing is I won't have to bother with an anniversary card as she's forgotten what day it was on (and I only just remembered).
