Are you referring to the tube that says Charlotte, oh yea thats the pipe that houses all the electrical wiring needed for the 600 ft routed track in the sub basement, we're hooked directly into the power station right up the street

Well I never saw that particular Howmet before! That does look cool. I guess it's a customised show version (?) of the car I know, the 1968 Howmet TX gas turbine that raced at Daytona and LeMans and the BOAC 500 at Brands Hatch. I loved it then, still do. I built a racer with a vacformed body back then, and would love to do it again now, but properly. It was a neat car, kind of a stubby version of a Chaparral 2D, but with 3 great turbine exhausts sticking out of the back and old Ford Cortina taillights (still have a spare set myself in case my Mk 1 G.T. ever finds it's way home).
The Howmet turned up again at Goodwood recently- I missed it, but friends have sent some great pics of it... thanks!
There's also a great book I have, 'Turbine Grand Prix', by Jabby Crombac, which has all the information you'd ever need, and fabulous pictures of all the great Turbine racing cars. Can't recommend it too highly.
But keep sending in those pics of your cars... Love 'em!
