I must admit that the reasoning behind the 1983 thing is the fact that it was the first Grand Prix that I attended.
So long ago I was still at school. 🤪

Not sure why the quote with the picture removed is not visible. If it turns out to be as fragile as the src 312 one off and will look like this

I disagree. Too frequently these days i see people trying to minimise GV. Often its that a** Nye trotting out how he remembers some journalist no longer with us to disagree to claim they'd said GV wasn't all that after all.As someone old enough to remember this time I think to try and compare Villenueve to Senna is quite a stretch. A good driver but no Senna IMO but then I think Jim Clark was the best of the lot we all have are hero's. As for the cars from the 60's , 70's & 80's I am all for them unfortunately during that time safety was not high on the list, also we would have no Le Mans cars from that era as again to many drivers lost their lives. Regards Greg
PS best looking car for me JPS LOTUS 72
I agree posting that photo in this context was very poor taste and it shows little knowledge of F1 history. Not sure why the quote with the picture removed is not visible.
The "If it turns out to be as fragile as the src 312 one off and will look like this" post
Very VERY poor taste
Been away for a while and to come back to this.
very very poor
No ofense taken, who was greater Hannibal or Scipio, Aquiles or Hector… all of them were great heroes and so our racing legends, we may feel more sympathy for one or the other due to be countrymen, religious or political thinking, etc, but in the end they all did great deeds on the track, no point on arguing “what would have been if he had not died, if he have had a better car, if he would have had a better teamate, if , if, if, etc”. It didn’t happened, period! , so let’s enjoy the moments of speed and pure driving passion they left to us and that continue to inspire us…Well, so I say 😉I disagree. Gilles did things that WERE extraordinary, its just such a tragedy that we didn't have him long enough to see what he could do with experience. In many ways what Senna might have been if he'd had ethics.
Edit: Actually i repent of saying this.
This is a place where we should be enjoying the cars and our heroes, and it's not my place to diminish anyone else's.
