I've been without a 904 for too long, which is why I jumped at the chance of building one when Frogeye fashioned this resin shell. Many regard Butzi's 1964 2-litre 4-cylinder 4-cam 2-seater as a styling masterpiece, and the car's results in competition speak for themselves.
A truly great all-rounder with success on the Monte, at Le Mans and elsewhere, it was also a most tractable road car for those who could stand the noise inside the cabin. Porsche's first GRP-bodied car, its influence among car designers is plain to see, even though the car marked something of the end of an era for Porsche.
After the 904 the Piech era began with a promise to take the company to the top. The 904 had a relatively brief career, but proved its worth from the off. The 904, therefore.
Painted body on PCS chassis. It'll be a few days before the paint has hardened sufficiently to continue, but at least this long overdue project is on its way.
I’ll be interested to hear how the car handles. I couldn’t get mine to go round corners even with a big brass weight below the chassis. My Scalextric version runs better.

it's popularity and success reflected in the then contemporary slotcar scene; models/kits by:
Monogram, Atlas, Strombecker, Scalextric, Atlas, Faller, and that's just in 1/32
I'm quite partial to the Porsche 904 as one Christmas many moons ago a RSL 1/32 kit was waiting under the Xmas tree for me. It was my very first slot car and this is what started me off with slots. Apparently they were made in NZ. On a local auction sight there is a built model with original box that I'm keeping a close eye on and here's a couple of photos of the box and contents and my Rvell/Monogram copy which I couldn't resist when they 1st appeared on the market.
This fascinated me, the rear end is highly modified. I just found the photo again on early911registry.org and it's from the Tour de France, you can clearly see a driver & navigator.
