Hi, can anyone let me have details of the ferules used as post protectors on vintage motors, size, where to get them etc. please.

I assume you mean motor post protectors if you cant get the ferrules from chas ,charlie or ABS or dave harvey ,what i have done in the past is to cut to length a suitable diametre brass tube and use some if that
It works just as well

Thanks Tony,

What I'm looking for are ferrules similar to those used to connect motor wires to guides in plastic cars only obviously bigger.

Try searching ebay for "brass tubing 4mm" this will return some 4mm external diameter brass tubing with wall thickness of .45mm so the internal diameter is 3.1mm. If that's close enough.

It is easy enough to cut and a needle file can be used to remove burrs.
