How do I go about powering a stand alone section of track which will be used just to test cars & motors? I have lots of spare track so do I need to buy an old transformer or can I just wire/solder something up? Bearing in mind I'm trying to save cash and I'm not an electrics wizard, which cable do I buy and where/what do I attach to for 'juice'? At the risk of electrocuting myself and blowing the house up, how difficult can this be? Anyone done the same? Any advice much appreciated...........Thank you

if you just want to test motors run or use to for sanding tyres you can route a small slot in a wood cut off, put 2 bits off copper tape in place then wire it up to a 9v battery connector.
