I totally agree with you, there's a lot of every day garbage that can be very useful for scratch building. I've been using tea bags to make radiators and exhaust insulation, plastic bottles to make windows etc.. Never throw away sprue leftovers from any kind of plastic kit, it can be useful for a lot of things. Another tip is, if you have a silkscreen printer shop in you neighborhood go and talk to the owner. A lot of these printers use plastic cart in all kind of thicknesses, and often they have to cut away edges that end up in the bin. The same goes for metals from engraving shops.
You just have to look at what you trow away and ask yourself can this be useful or not.
But I only want to find out if there where productions of resin Sunbeams, it makes starting building easier, and why make it your self difficult if there's already a half finished model on the market
. Most times I end up altering and perfecting these models anyway with scratch and the chassis I always make from scratch.
If there is of course a model that you really want, like your "Ital" then there is no other option than to start from zero. I'm doing this with a model wright now, but that's for an other topic later.
You made me really curious to see you Ital model is there a picture available or a link?
