I am still a bit new to this slot racing lark and didnt know anyone actually did a 360 Modena.
The latest GetSlotted flyer however shows a very smart looking "Hot Wheels" liveried car manufactured by Pro-Slot.
I dont own any Pro-Slot cars so the make is completely new to me. Their 911's look quite smart too. So, before I part with my cash I thought I would ask here for some expert opinions on Pro-Slot and in particular the 360 Modena's.

Many thanks

Now you are talking!

The Model is one of the best ProSlot did, scale and looks wise.
Sadly Proslot have a history of very variable quality control so there is a chance you will get a problem one.
That said I have 20 of them to do a project with and even with some of those being the dire 'Polistil' remakes, only 2 look like having problems and those minor.

Running gear - try and get an Evo 2 Motor version.
Proslot tyres are great compound and will handle all track types with or without magnet, though if you get a magnet version and want to run without, I suggest adding around 7 grams to the front of the car around the magnet area as a replacement.

Have alook around the forum GBmark, there are some pics of ProSlot Modenas in a recent post or two. If you need more help, feel free to email me.

Oh! and welcome to the Forum !

Hi Swiss, I had seen the earlier topic about 360 Modena's but I hadnt realised they were based on Pro-Slot cars, I just assumed they were resin kits or something like that. Some excellent paint jobs going on out there

I quite fancy getting hold of the Silver variant and one of the Porsche 911's as a racing partner.
I guess I can drop GetSlotted a line about which motors their cars have installed, they are a helpful bunch so I am sure they wont mind checking.

So, many thanks for the info and I appreciate the welcome

Even if yo ucan only get the EVO version - order the Evo 2 as an extra it makes ALL the difference.
Do not be tempted to go higher - Evo 3 or 4 - because then they are just overpowered and no fun.

I also advise changing the pinion gear to a brass one because 8 out of 10 plastic ProSlot ones are split and slip, a retailer will be able to advise here as the only source I know for them is Professor Motor in the USA.

Anyone want to correct me with a European stockist??

I had a proslot 360 modena once, and it looked great
. But of the tampo printing was poor and the motor didnt seem to have any poke. It was the EVO2 version and it revved quite high, but it lacked in top speed.

I got mine in a clearance sale for around £16, so I wasn't that disappointed!

BINGO !

and that was one of the 8 from 10 that had a split pinion gear. The more you accelerated the more it slipped, so engine revs were up but it was losing all those revs to friction slip.
Imagine it like you bought a car with a blown clutch. If you still have it - strip it, relivery and change the pinion gear to brass.

You will LOVE it I promise

You cant be serious!!! I thought the theory was : "less grip + too much power = too much fun!" :lol well that's what it means to me anyway!!

This is an 'interesting' car.
If you can find a Proslot PS 1009, it will probably be around £26.
A little further investigation may find you a Policar PC 003 at around £15.
These are the same car, other than the Policar being self coloured with very little in the way of decoration and the Proslot being nicely painted with a few more decorations. Certainly the bodies and guts are the very same.

I got one of each a year or so ago - for less than half those prices and discovered another interesting point. Although Proslot are generally described as being "from Italy", both cars come in identical cases, other than
the Proslot case being labelled
"Prodotto in Italia per CPE group d.o.o. . . .Slovenija."
While the Policar label says
"Made in Romania for CPE group d.o.o. . . .Slovenija"!

VERY interesting!

Nope, Proslot have not gone out of business or stopped making cars.

The guy who makes them apparently makes shoes as well, so when he has finished making his shoes he might just throw together a few cars

that would explain some of the curious liveries but still not the porno GT2 which I dont think a pic is appropriate considering the nature of the board however nice it is

I'd rather see pics of the "porno" car than that queer dancing spider-man you got.
At least the car fits the theme of this board.
