I'm creating a directory of Pro-X chips.

Does anyone have a braking chip who can provide the code and date stamped on the chip? Also what vehicle it is in? Sometimes the date/code are stamped on the bottom, sometimes on top. You would need to detach the inside screw and look under the chip.

Thanks,
Chris

Why not... the chassis are produced independently from the chips. So maybe "new" chips are used in "old" chassis.

Still, they had a braking chip before going public.

Perhaps a good slot dealer would let you test it before you buy ... it wouldn't be too difficult to bring a power base, a power supply and a hand controller to the shop, when you're looking to buy a new car?.

You wouldn't need to run the car ... you could just check if the wheels stop quickly in the air, letting the rear wheels hanging over the edge of the power base track section.

I know it's a bit awkward, but at least you'll have a chance to avoid getting a brakeless version.

Cars have a date stmp on the bottom. Cars made 9/04 and later have brakes. Most of the stock is probably now all brakes as new sets have brakes.

What I really want are some spare decoders to convert the four non-braking cars. . . .They are listed in the "spares" catalog -- no telling when they will be for sale.
