Hi awallace

Have just upgraded to firmware 1.09 (C7042) and running some laps for testing. The car that from the start of the race is using (CAR ID3) stops running and is now on (CAR ID6) Please help.

Cheers

Does this happen will just this particular car or can you replicate the problem with other cars??

Are you saying that this car was fine with previous versions of the firmware? If so could you go back to the previous version and confirm that the problem is resolved?

Also what is the car / motor / chip version / rev and do you have a ferrite & capacitor fitted to the motor?

Its not a problem that can be attributed to the new firmware - fairly sure of that - although I won't rule it out. I have just run over 100 laps with a car ID3 and did not experience the same problem with v1.09 of the firmware. Does the change happen from other ID's (say 1 & 2) to 6?

No fault on firmware 1.07, did some more testing last night and will do some more today. Did 5 new races with no error with firmware 1.09 and then same fault. With other car no fault so it might be a dodgy chip.

Thanks for all your replies and suggestions

Very unlikely that it is a dodgy chip. Please answer the other questions above & we will try and help.

Also can I just check exactly what you have done? It looks like...

All of this with just a single car, other cars ok?

The car on 1.07 all ok.
Upgrade to1.09 & several instances of ID change from 3 to 6.
Go back to 1.07 & all ok again.
Back to 1.09, 5 races ok, then another ID change.

Hi Tim

No problem here with ID3/1.09 or indeed any ID - I tried it with all flavours of chip and ICP/standard firmware.

Maybe, try vacuuming your track especially the sensor parts and putting new & tidy braids on the car.
Also, I don't think it would change the ID but I've been having XLC flippers changing on their own which I think this was due to the low angle winter sunlight hitting the sensors directly.
And just for good measure, do a 3 button hard reset - from memory, it's with the left & down arrows and start buttons together.

Oh and lastly, stop crashing so much

Cheers

Hi all

Did some more testing. It was a faulty car chip and a faulty XLC.

Has run 5 races of 100 laps without any problems after I changed car chip and XLC. Sorry I was so quick out of any errors in firmware 1.09 awallace. Thanks for all answers and help.

Cheers
