the controllers: available controllers: 90/75/60 ohm parma eco, 45/35/25 Parma eco, 25/18/13 parma eco, 15/11/8 parma eco, i will choose the controller where the car is driveable as its best during the practice laps.

2) max. width 50.8mm
3) no fluid may leak out, no grease, oil or braid juice may pollute the track, no tire glue or similar
4) teams may ask for a special voltage where the car should be run.
the standard racing voltage depends on the motor. I will run all car @ 12V, SCX and Carrera motors @14V, G9330 motors @ 10V. Again, if i get another information, i will run the car at the desired voltage.
5) car must have a body that looks like a car
6) no silicone tires, rubber and PU are fine,

concours de elegance: the best looking car will be voted by a poll open for all forum members

so i think these rules are wide open, so ladies and gentleman, i call you all out there to build your fastest, smoothest 1/43rd car for this race.
send in your trucks from the truck proxy we already had, just tune your stock SCX car a little and maybe blow the doors off all others, built something that was not seen before, it´s up to you.
Who will have the fastest car?
Small tip: K&D tires, Ortmann or JelClaws are the ones which work really good, foam tires don´t have grip on the flat latex surface.

The prices:
the first pick will go to the concours winner, than to the winner of the race, 2nd place concours, 2nd place race and so on...

list of prizes by now:
#1 Carrera Go! Porsche Spyder
#2 1/43rd 3D printed chassis for boxer (H0) Motor

list to be continued ....

have fun, Peter

Hey Peter,

That looks like fun,
it makes me want to prep a 1:43 car just to be part of it.
Absolutely sure i will not come close to the podium but that's not what i am doing it for.

Will have a look what i can find, have not unpacked my cars yet after my move to France.

Some questions,

Could you post some pictures of the track, and what do you mean with slowest 5 will be deleted?
Will posters, box stickers or what not be made and readily be available to entrants or mere mortals for a reimbursement ofcourse.
Inquiring minds would love to know.

Cheers and all the best,
Jaak

That's a fantastic looking track Peter.

Thanks for explaining the 30-5 thingie, i get it now and it makes perfect sense.

I should have referred to the stickers/posters you mentioned as an suggestion, my bad.
Heya all,

I have no clue what gearing i should get, going to order at Ranch design as i have no clue where else,
same goes for the wheel size and tire and axle diameter, Going with a vacformed Jaguar XJR9 body if i can find the rest to fit.
also would like to know where the car needs to be shipped to.

Want to make a brass chassis and use motor body gears rear axle tires from ranch design.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as a 1:43 noob i can use all the help i can get.
Hey Peter,

Thanks for the fast reply,
i will go after those parts right away.

Cheers,
Jaak

Ok i am in for 100% you can add me to the list,
with what? maybe a redone D Slot preferably a Scratch Brass chassis version if i can source the needed ingredients in time

Anyway will compete with 2 cars,
1 standard D Slot to see how it compares and 1 altered car.
If we need to pick numbers i love to have #77 and #75 or #11

Hey Ted,

That helps a lot, thanks for that, will have a proper look at the thread there too.
Unfortunately i do not get any reply from Ranch Design so i am looking at other options,
just bought my first 1:43 cars 2 D -Slots.

I may canabalize one to make a brass chassis and use the D-slot components or i may if time gets really short try and improve the car and make a Brass chassis for the next proxy.
I will at least enter 2 cars, one a clean D-Slot and a modified car.
Still need to learn a lot of 1:43 things but that's part of the fun.

I have a scale that goes to 0,01 grams, those tires are a little more then a little special hehehe, nice brew.
Hey Guys,

Thanks again Ted,

I ordered a Kyosho D Slot Mazda 787 No.55 1991 Le Mans Winner.

And a Kyosho D Slot Porsche 962c LH Kenwood N°10 1986.

It could be that Steve will reply when he gets around to it but i do not have enough time to wait for the maybe reply,
any simple reply like i will get to you in... would have been nice, i am sorry to sound impatient but time is not on my side at the moment

So the way Ranch Design seems to work you will never be sure that you get a reply or that it is shipped fast enough i can not take that risk atm.
He has some very nice stuff, i wanted to use his VacForm body also to get a really low center of gravity.
(The McLaren) This was my shopping list:
CHSKSW36R Sidewinder Chassis & Rolling Kit . . . . . . . . . . $39.00 EA
.350"x.187" Front wheel
.350"x.312" Rear wheel
And the widest polyurethane rear tires possible,
with the narrowest slickest fronts possible non silicone.
That and the McLaren vacform Body. $2.00 EA

My wife wanted to paint the '52 GMC Pickup so i was going to order that too.

I was going with the kit because buying all the parts individual was only 5$ difference from the complete chassis kit, that then has an adjustable chassis extra,
always handy if the project totally fails to use as last resort.

I will keep looking for suppliers to see where i can get the parts i need to make what i have in my head, as of yet still not any reply from RD.

It is a good idea to order more then you need to have some spare ans also save on postage,
plus if you destroy something along the way you have a replacement.

Guess my brass chassis build will have to wait for the next proxy.

Peter,

Thanks for the heads up about the Tyre suppliers can not wait for them to arrive and have a look at what they are and if i can use one to make a brass chassis version without destroying it.

Cheers,
Jaak

Hey Peter,

Thank you very much for the offer, i greatly appreciate it

But i should have things sorted this weekend i think.

Will keep you guys up to date^^,
i think sending it should not cost more then a week, so that gives me a bit of extra time.

I am very impressed with this D-Slot car.
Seeing some possibilities there.

Do any of you guys know this chassis?
1:43 Chassis

Looks interesting and has a good price.
Masmojo,

Thanks for sharing your experience with Techno Slot,
i know what you mean with postage
same issue here getting stuff from the US.

Ted,

Looks like it runs pretty sweet.
will get one of those chassis later on.

I am at the moment making a Brass/D-Slot Chassis,
Will be using the running gear of the D-Slot 962 Kenwood but i may need better tires.
I am not sure if i can get them in time though i have not found a proper supplier yet here in France.

Hey Marc,

That looks like a well thought out chassis,
1:43 Floppy pans FTW

Here is what i have been working on....

a JaakWorks D-Jaak

Found a great supplier of tires and optional spring replacements for Kyosho cars at a very good price.
i asked the guy and the Porsche tires also fit the Mazda 787B

Slotcar tires linky

Hey Marc,

That looks like a fine piece of equipment,
makes me wish i was anywhere near handy with a 3D design program

oh that's a good thing i read that...

somehow had the 10th in my head and was running low on time on getting better tires.

Gave my car some testruns and it runs great on my track but can use more grip

Is Ted active again?

Will post my car Monday, that should be early enough.
I received the tires from the one i put the link up,
they give a fantastic grip and i am happy with how the car handles on my track.

No clue how it will do against others but we will see,
i am sure it will not be the fastest but if it is not the slowest i am already happy.

I would greatly appreciate negative feedback on the handling to know where and what can and needs to be improved.

Sugerfree coating please*

*I know i am asking for it

Good to hear Ted is back at the wheel,
for my next build i will have more time too so will contact him again.
First need to finish my track and build a 1:24 Jaildoor brass chassis.

Hey Leo,

Glad to have you aboard mate.

I am maybe in the same boat as you.. totally clueless what is best for the cars in 1:43.

Some nice cars you entered, i should have send one of my other stock D-Slots to see if i actually improved the car

Love the look of that Benz.
