That orange mclaren F1 was the teams winter test livery in the year they switched from Marlboro to West sponsorship.

McLaren saved the now pretty familliar black and silver look for a big media launch about a month before the 1997 season if my memory serves me right.

Ah, Ken you gave the game away too fast - but the plinth doesn't help either!
Yep - the wheels are crap - a bit of judicious painting would definitely help, but not allowed to do that in case it reduces the massive future value of this 'Limited Edition'. Strange, because you'd think it would be worth even more if it looked even a little bit better. I suspect I might do it anyway, one day.
Collectors are VERY weird people!
