Me and Martin are happy to announce that the Free version of RCS64 will be released soon.
In advance, you can get your registration key by sending me or Martin Schmidt a PM with your e-mail address.
We will send you the registration key and manual.
In the mean time we will try to finish and test the build to be released by the end of this month, but don't be too harsh on us If we don't make It. Today's test however looked good so I could not longer wait to post this on SF !
By pre-registering you can start playing with RCS as soon as you finished the download when released, and read the manual before asking questions on SF
Free version will not include;
- pace cars
- pit lane detection
- historic data
- Dynamic braking
We think the current version deserves to be enjoyed and tested by you (and thanks to our early day beta testers !), and in the mean time we are working to improve current version, which will undoubtedly have some issues, and work on above missing features and a lot of new features not mentioned or seen before. Watch this space.
Marcel and Martin,
Team RCS
PS RCS64 website hasnt been updated in a while, we will do that soon.
I have the APB. It's getting up the desire to swap out my PB-Pro for it that's taking a while. To get the set up I have now, I'll have to do the separation of the base. To get the power, I'll need to do the high power mod. If I'm going through that trouble, I want to add more power taps and solder some track together, as well as power my LCs directly so they still work at low power settings. It's a lot of work I don't look forward to doing.
I understand that Greg, to be honest I never got to the point to do the powermod on the C7042, 2 standard PSU's still suit me fine, usually running no more than 4 magnet or magless cars. It's defintely worth trying. But who am I telling
Trying all the new race management apps coming out for SSD and the APB is one of the main reasons I'm planning to switch. I look forward to testing yours.
There is no underlying database yet, data is saved but in a format RCS can read It. This could be translated to SQL, but at the moment not a priority. Pace cars first
Rick, RCS and RCD are no more confusing than SSD and SSDC, and those aren't even the same TYPE of product.
Acronyms are always confusing until they are used enough by everyone. If someone is worried about confusion between products, they should use the complete name for it rather than the acronym. There is only one similarity between "Race Coordinator Digital" And "Race Control System 64".
MrFlippant, Thanks for your reply to the so called confusion. lets see, what people think off it. this is made for fun. and its all starts beeing a reality thanks to Marcels experience
.
Sure we will se a lot of issues, specially in the start, but we will solve them the best we can...
@Jaakbeentjes & others; PM is working, don't worry, just did not have the time yet to respond to create the keys and reply, especially since yesterday my internet provider had a bad day. I hope to send registration keys and manuals tonight !
And than I can start beginning to update the website too....

Exactly why I thought it would be advantageous to make something totally unique in these early stages.
Im sure the RMS will kick butt! Hope it all goes well.
