I am a fan of this manufacturer, especially the 330 P4/412P cars they have done to date.

Are you able to say when the 330 P4 spyder "Brands Hatch" as driven by Jackie Stewart will be available. I think the model number is RCR09

RCR09 is the P4 Brands Hatch 1967 car. We'll have them in stock VERY soon, just let us know if you want an RTR or a kit (painted or unpainted).

These Ferraris are stunning, not always the cheapest but the build quality is really good, so anyone considering one should take the RTR car unless you are sure of your own skills.

Racer have also listed a 250LM for release in 2004, I have a picture of the resin master on the website if anyone interested.

Do you have any facts and figures on this? I've been warned that the P4 suffers from Vanquish disease, but I've never been close enough to one to find out.
I really don't want to spoil anyone's party on this, but there's a lot of beer vouchers at stake here. If the car is right, I'll buy one. If it's out of scale, I'll buy myself a lot of fine evenings at the pub instead.
If someone would measure the wheelbase of their Racer model, plus maybe a few other measurements, it would put my mind at rest. I won't weep over a minor inaccuracy, but I want it to look right on my track. Love the car. Want one. But nervous...

No,I don't have the 1:1 dimensions,nore did I measure the ones I saw at Professor Motors place whenever I have visited.

They are enough oversize,that I spotted it from about 4 feet away,in a cabinet with no other cars near it for reference.

I don't think they are as off as the Vanquish cars,but they are pretty big.

I have a Lancer Vac body of this car,and it is quite a bit smaller.Lancer were known for thier accuracy of scale dimiensions,before they started to produce more"handling"type bodies.

The Lancer is 5.15" long and 2.29" over the rear spoiler which is thw widest part of these cars.Hight from sills to roof is 1.15"WB looks to be spot on 3",which sounds about right to me.

Anyone got a Racer to measure.

I've got 7 Racer Ferrari's now (RTR versions) including the 3 car Daytona set. Personally I don't care about the scale side of things as they are definitely not seeing a race track, at least not in my lifetime.

Thanks for the offer MRE. I did pre-order all the P4's/412's well over a year ago through Pendle, but if there are any problems I will definitely get in touch.

To answer the availability question, we are placing our first order with Racer this weekend, having only just officially got the distributorship. All those dealers that contact me before then (an I have emailed most of them) should see the fruition of their orders in about 4 weeks, as these models are made to order by Racer, and not already in stock at the factory ready to ship. I don't want to stir up any controversy, but purely for the sake of interest;
The wheelbase of the Ferrari P4 was 2400 mm in real life. That's 75mm in 1/32 between the axle centres. If anyone could take a moment to measure their Racer P4, I'd be very interested to know the result.
I used to have a Lancer bodied model, which was destroyed in a tragic race incident about 30 years ago. I have a 'Betta' bodied version now, which is very much a 'handling' design, mounted on a Fly Ventura chassis.
What I would really like is a proper scale replica to make my life complete at last.

Thanks Aaron for the full list. I see there is another 330 P4 on the list which I wasn't aware of (RCR10).
Looking at the Le Mans race for that year, I believe there were another 3 330/412 Ferraris entered into the race that have not yet been modelled. I was thinking of getting a cabinet made up from "Picture Pride Displays", but I think I will hold back for a while just incase they become available as well.

The Lancer body is right on for both size and accurate shape.

It is indeed very unfortunate that the RACER P4's are too big, but this in no way takes anything from their beauty and quality. Why did RACER chose to make them bigger than 1/32 scale is another Vanquished mystery...
It is certainly a bit visually frustrating to race one against a Scalextric Ford GT.
Most of the RACER car will never hit the track anyway, but one has to really question the commercial viability of chosing an odd scale to make replicas. It is public knowledge that at least in North America, Vanquish-MG sales have been soft to say the least.

Aaaah Mr TSRF, you make me long for my lunched Lancer. They were beautiful, weren't they? It's not just my nostalgic wistfulness after all. The best argument ever for vac-formed bodies- the only way you can get that thin-framed cockpit to look right in small scale. I've ordered a Nostalgia resin copy, but it'll be a hard job to get it looking as good as your original.

But still no news of the Racer model dimensions? I'm very interested.

I saw some at the last but one MK swapmeet and they are definately a bit big, but in proportion so look fine. For me it is the price, not the scale that puts me off.

Would not mind a set of their MOMO decals for the 330SP to tart up my SCX version!

Measured one of my Racer P3/4s and these are the dims:

overall length 136mm (bodywork excluding the exhausts which add 2-3 mm)
overall width 64mm
overall height 33mm
wheelbase 79mm

..which by my reckoning makes it circa 1:30.5 (ish)

Scott, I have had a couple of requests for decals - I will see what I can do and get back to you.

TSRF I think you hit the nail on the head - they may be a little off scale, but I doubt at the price they will hit the track. Can any expert tell me if the dimensions are accurate though as far as bodyshape/length/height?

Am I first to rise to the bait, Aaron? No expert, of course, but off the top of my head, I'd say the correct dimensions for the P4 should be;

O/A length 4185mm
O/A width 1810mm
O/A height 1000mm

gross weight 800 Kg.

In 1/32 that translates to;

O/A length 130.78mm (Syd's Racer P4 is 136mm)
O/A width 56.56mm ( " " " 64mm)
O/A height 31.25mm ( " " " 33mm)

weight 25 kilos (so there's room for a bit of ballast in there for handling......)

I am not sure about the weight - if we are talking about volume it might be more appropriate to recalculate the whole thing with 'cubic-weight' - so the result would be significantly less than 25 kg.
