Friday 16 July saw the first race held at Oaklands Park for some 16 months due to you know what.

This was primarily a test event to ensure changes made to the track's electrics in recent weeks were working correctly but that did not diminish the competitive edge that club members have been storing up during the enforced absence.

16 JULY 2021 - 1/32 SPORTS

As there were enough people to race (just) it was decided to to try out all the work done to the electrics over the last few weeks to see if it was ok and apart from one small glitch which was soon fixed it was.

In the "B" final was Steve, Dave and Sue and it was pretty close racing with Steve taking the lead early on but Dave slowly reeled him in with a car borrowed from Brian but Sue was never far behind and that's how it finished.

In the "A" final it was Sandy, Brian and Simon, Brian was first out of the tapes followed by Sandy and Simon, it was nip and tuck between Brian and Sandy all the way through with nothing between them, Simon's car though soon sounded as though it was dragging on the track and by the end of the race was running on the wheel hubs but in the end the race was decided by who came off the least. The top 3 were (L to R in photo) Brian, Sandy and Dave.

So on that trial it has been decided to to start officially racing next week (23 July) for the 1st time in 16 months and it will be 1/32 sports again followed the next week by F2,GP12 saloon and 1/24 sports.
