Two questions, if I may :

- what type of contacts are used on rail cars (I suppose it's not braid) ?

- edited how do you get hold of 0 gauge rail, cross-section dimensions etc ?

If you are wondering about these seemingly innocuous queries, you are right - coming from me, it's got to be positively heretical !!

Hi - The contacts are usually thin brass sheet cut to shape and carefully tensioned to get just the right amount of downforce on the rail, braid has been used on the top rail but for the other contact wire brass is best!

O gauge rail from Peco did the job on the reconstructed Gilbern Park track and is available from any good model shop.
