having ended up with a surplus of scaley metro's , i thought i would have a go at actually making one look like a 6r4 , rather than the laughable effort they made of it. a good session with some plasticard and milliput should shape up quite nicely i think. then i got to wondering what other old , basic and most importantly cheap scalextric offerings could be turned into decent copies of the originals. so far i came up with a mk3 escort into a rs1700t. quattro into s1 and pretty much a simple repaint on a 260z to africa rally spec. any suggestions for other suitable candidates? other than the zed , i am thinking re-model rather than just re-paint.

As far as I remember, the Scaley 260Z was the longer wheelbase 2+2 model. The Safari rally car was the original short wheelbase 240Z.

No, the Scaley 260 is the standard 2 seater, not the 2+2. Here is my BRE re-paint.

I had the same idea with a spare metro
diy'ed rear spoiler, front spolier/splitter ,bonnet grille/ boldge and light pod made from my daughters hama beads with leds
nearly finshed painting with computervision lively and ninco 4wd pulleys

I have a Scaly Metro that I bought off Ebay and it has a proper 6R4 kit fitted to it and looks good so some one must make them. Anybody know who??
