i recently got these 2 midget racers made in hong kong.i have never seen these cars or heard of them in all my years of collecting.i think they are made by cragstan.they use the 3 1/2 volt motor.they use 2 metal guide pins,both near the center instead of 1 being in the front & 1 being in the rear.the drivers helmets look like the old leather football helmets.the cars are the same size as the strombecker midget racers.i just put them on my website in the hong kong section under cragstan.i think the wheels are the clue to the mystery of who made them,thanks,bernard

Interesting find Bernard! They also look very similar to the made in Hong Kong Marx models, especially the Vanwall, that has very similar tires. Both the Cragstan and Marx models made in HK had very similar pickups - I would kind of assume they were made in the same factory...

Take a look at your Marx Vanwall and let me know what you think.

The overall look of these cars is still a bit different to the Marx or Cragstan models however, and Marx always had the Marx logo on their cars...

don,they are close but the tires are a little different & the marx are smaller.both use a metal,not plastic pin guide.these cars are earlier.the 2 halfs of the bodies are glued together ,not screwed as in the marx cars,this & the double pins & the crude way the metal chassis is attached to the lower body half seem to point to a very early hong kong made slot car.i still think the wheels are the key .thanks,bernard
