Re-colouring Scalextric Track Borders

5208 Views 15 Replies 10 Participants Last post by  simon_wright91
I've got a mixture of Scalextric Sport track borders - some beige and some black.

I'd like them all black. What's the best way of re-colouring the beige ones? I'm thinking a coat of aerosol plastic primer followed by a few coats of matt black. Is there a better way??
TBH, I'd prefer brush-on to aerosol. Anyone got any suggestions on that front?

TIA
Stuart.

All,
Did mine with "Plasti-kote projekt Paint, Primer Super - Black #1146" and they turned out fine. It's a spray-on matt black and got a very good match with original Scalex borders in Black. I got fed-up with black inners and sand outers. It also worked well as a basecoat for re-liveries on cars... so handy stuff.
