Does anyone here do re-liverying professionally, or know anoyne who does?

I'd like to get at least one of my Scalextric cars done in a livery I haven't seen them come as standard. I'm not dexterous enough (or patient enough!) to do it myself, but would willingly pay someone to do a proper job for me.

QUOTE (DJ @ 10 May 2011, 19:18) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Out of interest, what do you have and what would you like it to look like?
I know I might be a little sad but I want to keep my cars in matched pairs of cars that competed against each other in period.
I've got the Scalextric Vectra in silver, number 88, the one that has no race decals - sorry, I don't have a picture at the moment - and I'd like it done in 1997 BTCC livery to match the Laguna I already have. I particularly like the Derek Warwick car with the white Sunday Times livery.
I've also got the silver Toyota Corolla rally car, number 6, that has not much in the way of decals. I'd like that in a livery to match my Renault factory-liveried Megane which seems to be c.1998. I haven't found a livery I like yet, though.

There may well be red and white involved on at least one (and possibly both) of the cars Kev, but it will not be stripes.
(For one thing, that particular kind of nonsense would probably get me a divorce!)

Thanks for all the advice, lads. I'll start sending some e-mails out when I get home from the holiday I'm on at the moment. I've got internet access here, but for some reason my e-mail account won't work.

That ^^^^^ is the Vectras. The top one is the '97 Warwick livery and the bottom one the '98. It's really '97 I'm interested in so If I were to go for a predominately red car it would have to be the John Cleland/Materfit number 8 livery.
As an alternative, I could go for '96 and have the white/yellow Cleland number 1 livery. Scalextric did do that one, but they don't seem to appear very often.

I'm not keen on that Sainz/Castrol-liveried Corolla, I prefer the Marlboro-style livery. The trouble with that one, though, is that the Scalextric version is numbered 24 and the Megane it's "paired" with is 24 as well. Impulse got the better of me and I'd already bought the silver number 6 car before I thought things through properly.
What might have to happen with the Corolla is that I punt the silver one on and buy the Marlboro-style in place of it and get the number on either the Corolla or the Megane changed.

I know.......... I'm fussy!

In my case, I'm afraid not.

That number 9 Corolla is exactly the sort of thing I'd want. The red Cleland Vectra is the '97 one I mentioned.

I'm getting well into this. Supertouring.co.uk is my friend.

I've also been looking at 1990. I've got a Sierra RS500 and BMW M3 on my wish list.

And with the help of juwra.com and Google images I've settled on buying the Scalextric number 24 Corolla and re-numbering (somehow, not sure exactly how to do it, yet) my Megane. Then both will be in 1999 TAP Rallye de Portugal livery.

No worries, look forward to seeing what you end up with.

Always been a fan of the Corolla WRC, really underated and rarely remembered but, as the photo's showed, a cracking looking car in rally trim. I'd like to see a higher detailed model done by one of the slot manufacurers. Perhaps Autoart will do one, they've made plenty of static Corollas in 1:18 and 1:43

Also your choice of BTTC is an excellent one, a great period for the BTCC, loads of manufacturers taking part, brilliant close racing, it was a joy to watch.

I've bought the '96 John Cleland Vectra (Scalextric C2001 limited edition) so that one's not a problem (except that I've got a spare Vectra now).

I still want go get the Corolla, Megane, or both done though. Time to start sending e-mails, methinks.

Thanks for that. ^^^^^

As often happens with me, I've changed my mind again. I've found a Scalextric Corolla I like the livery of. It's the number 45 Martin Brundle 1999 RAC rally car - C2183. So from that point of view, I'm sorted without resorting to any re-liverying.

So I now have 3 cars that are surplus to requirements. The silver Vectra C2328, the silver Corolla C2160 (but it could be the Argos special C2296W - I don't know how to tell the difference) and a C455 Sierra which I bought on impulse and am very diasppointed with the quality of.

However..................
It occurred to me today that the Sierra has a stance more like a rallycross car than the WTCC/ETCC car I thought I was buying. Serves me right for buying eBay tat, I suppose.
So, I'm in the process of doing some modifications to the chassis of the Sierra and I think I'll be attempting to re-paint/re-livery the car in a rallycross stylee. Lets face it, most rallycross cars look rough so it really doesn't matter if I make a hash of it. ....And I've lost nowt as I'm unlikely to make very much back on the car if I put it back on eBay.

I just need to find some suitable decals now.
Once I see how I get on with the Sierra, I'll probably have a go at the Corolla as well.

Anyone here ever done any rallycross cars????
