[Difflock]

As you guys probably know, FLY tyres are made from a compound that doesn't respond well to a truing process, at least not to my method of a piece of sandpaper on the track! With the exception of the Cartrix NSX which did have a better compound, but still was trying to overheat, I've had no trouble at all with other tyres.

The FLY rims must be an unusual size/design because I haven't found any to fit from the spares I've acquired. Any ideas for replacement?

just had that problem on my new C5r (in the gorgeous williams livery)... burnt out the motor trying to true the

things.

Had some Slot it P something tyres in my spares box, and they kind of fitted, although they sort of bulged at the edges - but a lot of truing later and they are now really good. (it was a bit of a stretch to get them on - is that a good or a bad thing?) Sorry, I don't know the size. There are probably better fitting tyres, but thats 1 solution. Just need skinnies for the front now...

The rears from Ninco's Merc CLK GTR fit straight on to the storm - no worries!! Just need a set (4 off?) from Sean! It doesn't matter if they're not as sticky as other brands, but at least I can true 'em

It is the thing that annoys me more than blobby vacs - all the different tyre/hub fittings between the brands and sometimes within the brand (Fly are the worst in my book).

Maybe I'm in a daydream but I thought I slapped some Proslots on the back of my C5.

It's another consideration. Proslot F1 tyres are just a bit too bulky though (I have a pair and of course tried them).

ortmanns do fly size rims but the uk distributor is well unsocialble to say the VERY least!

graham would sort you out with the tyres and where to get them from

I have a list from the professor on Indy Grips (which I swear by on most of my cars)(they are presently unavailable for some). The Corvette takes the #IG3002. Same for the Lister. They buy me .2 sec. on my track.

Another point is that I need to be able to true the tyres. I don't want to change the wheels and spoil the look of the car, so I need to put tyres on those rims which can be trued, unlike ppr silicone etc.

All being well, I'm getting hold of some Ninco rears on Sunday, but might try Proslots for future reference too, if Sean brings them (No, Sean don't fetch them just for me! )
