Decided I'd have a crack at the Fitzpatrick Escort that Scalextric seem adamant not to release and have just bought one of these as the base car.

As I am completely useless at painting I want to avoid that at all cost so question is how do I remove the Tampo printed blue RS stripes from this car without spoiling the lovely white paintwork?

Tried to do a similar job on a Uniflo Escort using T-cut and all was going well until I rubbed a bit too hard (oooer missus) on a stubborn bit of black Tampo and rubbed through the top coat.

Is T-cut the way to go or is there something else that will shift Tampo without buggering up the paint?

Many thanks.

DJ

PS tried a Google search for "Removing Tampo" and it just wanted to tell me about lady things that men need not know about..

Really? Off a modern Scaley car?
Only problem with that is that I'm a nail biter so don't have the tools for the job, I'll have to sub-contract the task to my lovely wife.

Zen, you are in territory that blokes should never be.!! Like I said, the Google search was an eye-opener.!!

Anyway I started with the tooth-pick and the tampo was coming off quite easily, Mrs DJ then helped out a bit with her finger nails and I now have a "naked Escort" (try that in a Google search for another eye-opener.!!
).

There's a little bit of a blue tinge left behind but I'm sure that will wash off with a little soap and warm water, if not I'll use something a bit stronger. Now I need to sort the decals out, find some decal paper, etc.... I'll get around to it eventually.

Thanks for the help as usual folks.
