Thought you might like to see some pics of my Renault Dauphine Gordini that I've just completed, ready for it's maiden run at our club track tomorrow, when, hopefully, it won't get wrecked!
Body is Airfix (at least 50 years old!), chassis is PCS adjustable, interior is modified Scalextric Ford Escort (I think!) wheels are Scalextric Lotus Cortina. The rest of the bits are from my spares box.

Thanks.
The rear track, because of the inboard wheels, is quite narrow.
I was surprised that I had to use a longer front axle (from memory about 4mm more) than the standard Scalextric Lotus Cortina front axle.
It remains to be seen tomorrow whether it will tip when pushed hard though as it's standard Scalextric track the chassis magnet should help!

That's right up my street. You've made a great job of it. Well done.

I'm still hoping that SCX will produce an RTR one. 🤞

And the Dauphine was one of the first mass-produced cars with 4 wheel disc brakes.

Photo looks good enough to me. Depth of field is always a problem when photographing models.
Nice to see something different but it has quite a narrow track so would tend to tip when pushed hard.
Prototypical then*.

I confess to knowing little about the Dauphin's handling, but I do know that Which? magazine managed to invert an R8 Gordini in about 1965 during handling tests.**

**Which? succeeded in breaking quite a number of fairly desirable motor cars. They seized an Aston (can't remember now if it was a DB5 or a DB6) twice during top speed runs, flipped a Triumph 2000 Mk2, provoked a Honda S800 into blowing a core plug, resulting in another seizure, destroyed a succession of NSU Ro80 engines (but didn't everyone?), blew up a Lotus Cortina engine and trashed its diff, bent a Range Rover back axle like a banana, and succeeded in repeatedly grounding the front X-members of assorted Mostin Oxbridges (OK, not that desirable) by yumping them, a feat I, as an idiot and immortal 19 year old, completely failed to emulate. They did proper road tests in those days.
